Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6261
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to place his riding animal in front of him, using it as a sutrah, and pray.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنی سواری کو سامنے رکھ کر اسے بطور سترہ آگے کر لیتے تھے اور نماز پڑھ لیتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُعَرِّضُ رَاحِلَتَهُ، وَيُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا".
