Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6288
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever I hear swearing by his father, then (know) that Allah Almighty forbids you from swearing by your forefathers, so when any of you intends to swear, let him swear by Allah or else remain silent."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کو اپنے باپ کی قسم کھاتے ہوئے سنا تو فرمایا: ”کہ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہیں اپنے آباؤ اجداد کے نام کی قسمیں کھانے سے روکتا ہے اس لئے جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص قسم کھانا چاہے تو اللہ کے نام کی قسم کھائے ورنہ خاموش رہے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Ko apne baap ki qasam khate huye suna to farmaya: ”kah Allah ta'ala tumhen apne abao ajdad ke naam ki qasmen khane se rokta hai is liye jab tum mein se koi shakhs qasam khana chahe to Allah ke naam ki qasam khaye warna khamosh rahe.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ فِي رَكْبٍ، وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ، فَلْيَحْلِفْ حَالِفٌ بِاللَّهِ أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ".
