Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6345
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to raise his hands up to or near his shoulders while saying the Takbir. He would also raise his hands when going into Ruku' (bowing) and when raising his head from Ruku'. However, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not raise his hands between the two prostrations (Sujud).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ تکبیر کہتے وقت اپنے کندھوں کے برابر یا قریب کر کے رفع یدین کرتے تھے نیز رکوع میں جاتے وقت اور رکوع سے سر اٹھانے کے بعد بھی رفع یدین کرتے تھے لیکن دو سجدوں کے درمیان نبی کریم ﷺ نے رفع یدین نہیں کیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) takbeer kehte waqt apne kandhon ke barabar ya qareeb kar ke rafay yadain karte thay neez ruku mein jaate waqt aur ruku se sar uthane ke baad bhi rafay yadain karte thay lekin do sajdon ke darmiyaan Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne rafay yadain nahin kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ يُكَبِّرُ حَتَّى يَكُونَا حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ رَفَعَهُمَا، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ رَفَعَهُمَا، وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ".
