Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 7874
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is better for a man to have his stomach filled with pus than to have it filled with poetry."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کسی آدمی کا پیٹ پیپ سے اتنا بھر جائے کہ وہ سیراب ہوجائے اس سے بہت بہتر ہے کہ وہ شعر سے بھرپور ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kisi aadmi ka pet pait se itna bhar jaye keh woh serab hojaye us se behtar hai keh woh sher se bharpoor ho.
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ الرَّجُلِ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا" .
