Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9235
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Shall I not tell you who among you is the best?" The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The best among you are those who live long lives and have the best character."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا میں تمہیں یہ نہ بتاؤں کہ تم میں سب سے بہتر کون ہے؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا جی یا رسول اللہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم میں سب سے بہتر لوگ وہ ہیں جن کی عمر طویل ہو اور اخلاق بہترین ہوں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kya main tumhen ye na bataun ki tum mein sab se behtar kaun hai? Sahaba Kiram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya ji ya Rasulullah Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum mein sab se behtar log wo hain jin ki umar tawil ho aur akhlaq behtarin hon.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم:" أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخِيَارِكُمْ؟"، قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: " خِيَارُكُمْ أَطْوَلُكُمْ أَعْمَارًا، وَأَحْسَنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا" .
