Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 9277
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that the food of one person is sufficient for two people, and the food of two people is sufficient for four people.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ایک آدمی کا کھانا دو کے لئے اور دو آدمیوں کا کھانا چار آدمیوں کے لئے کفایت کرجاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki ek aadmi ka khana do ke liye aur do aadmiyon ka khana chaar aadmiyon ke liye kafiyat karjata hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، سمعتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " طَعَامُ الْوَاحِدِ يَكْفِي الِاثْنَيْنِ، وَطَعَامُ الِاثْنَيْنِ يَكْفِي الْأَرْبَعَةَ" .
