It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Ukaim that the Prophet's letter (peace be upon him) was recited to us in which it was written: Do not derive benefit from the skin of the dead animal, nor from its tendons.

(٤١) حضرت عبداللہ بن عکیم (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ہم پر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا خط پڑھا گیا، اس میں تھا کہ تم مردار کے چمڑے سے نفع حاصل نہ کرو اور نہ ہی اس کے پٹھوں سے فائدہ اٹھاؤ۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukaim (RA) se riwayat hai ki hum par Rasool Allah (SAW) ka khat padha gaya, is mein tha ki tum murdaar ke chamade se nafa hasil na karo aur na hi uske patthon se faida uthao.
It is narrated by Abdullah bin Ukaim (may Allah be pleased with him) that the letter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was recited to us in a place called Jahina, and I was young at that time. It was written in it that you should not benefit from the skin of a dead animal, nor from its tendons.

(٤٢) حضرت عبداللہ بن عکیم (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ہم پر جہینہ نامی جگہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا خط پڑھا گیا اور میں اس وقت نوجوان تھا، اس میں لکھا تھا کہ تم مردہ جانور کے چمڑے سے فائدہ نہ اٹھاؤ اور نہ ہی اس کے پٹھوں سے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukaim (RA) se riwayat hai keh hum par Jaheena naami jaga mein Rasool Allah (SAW) ka khat parha gaya aur mein us waqt naujawan tha, is mein likha tha keh tum murda janwar ke chamre se faida na uthao aur na hi us ke patthon se.
(43) (a) Some people came to Abdullah bin Ukaim (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had written to the tribe of Jahina, a month before his death, that they should not benefit from the skin of a dead animal nor from its back.
(b) Imam Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This hadith is also narrated through another chain of narration, in which the words are: You wrote this letter forty days before your death. It is narrated from Abdullah bin Ukaim (may Allah be pleased with him) that the chiefs of our tribe, Jahina, told us that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had written a letter to them. If Allah wills, its mention will come later.

(٤٣) (الف) حضرت عبداللہ بن عکیم (رض) کے پاس کچھ لوگ آئے تو انھوں نے بتلا یا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی وفات سے ایک مہینہ پہلے جہینہ قبیلہ والوں کو لکھا کہ تم مردار کے چمڑے سے نفع حاصل نہ کرو اور نہ ہی اس کے پٹھوں سے فائدہ اٹھاؤ۔
(ب) امام بیہقی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : یہ حدیث دوسری سند سے بھی وارد ہے جس کے الفاظ یہ ہیں کہ آپ نے وفات سے چالیس دن پہلے یہ خط لکھا۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عکیم (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ہمارے قبیلے جہینہ کے مشائخ نے ہمیں بتایا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں خط لکھا۔ ان شاء اللہ اس کا ذکر آگے آئے گا۔
(43) (alif) Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukaim (RA) ke pass kuch log aaye to unhon ne batlaya ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apni wafat se ek mahina pehle Jaheena qabila walon ko likha ki tum murdar ke chamare se nafa hasil na karo aur na hi us ke patthon se faidah uthao.
(be) Imam Bayhaqi (RA) farmate hain : Yeh hadees dusri sanad se bhi ward hai jis ke alfaz yeh hain ki aap ne wafat se chalis din pehle yeh khat likha. Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukaim (RA) se riwayat hai ki hamare qabile Jaheena ke mashaykh ne hamen bataya ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhen khat likha. Insha Allah is ka zikar aage aaye ga.
Yahya bin Ma'een said that a hadith of Abdullah bin Ukaim (may Allah be pleased with him) states that a letter came to us from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (in which it was written) "Do not benefit from the skin of a dead animal, nor from its tendons." Our companions have narrated to us, with another strong chain of narration, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wrote, "Do not benefit." Sheikh Abu Zakariya (may Allah have mercy on him) explains the reason for this hadith, saying that in our view, this refers to the skin before it is tanned. The evidence for this is the authentic hadiths (with chains of narration) mentioned in the following chapters.

(٤٤) یحییٰ بن معین نے فرمایا کہ حدیث عبداللہ بن عکیم (رض) کہ ہمارے پاس رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خط آیا (جس میں لکھا تھا) کہ تم مردار کے چمڑے سے نفع حاصل نہ کرو اور نہ ہی اس کے پٹھوں سے فائدہ اٹھاؤ، ایک اور قوی سند کے ساتھ ہمارے اصحاب نے ہم کو بیان کی ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لکھا : ” تم نفع نہ اٹھاؤ۔ “
شیخ ابو زکریا (رح) اسی حدیث کی علت بیان کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے نزدیک یہ چمڑا رنگنے سے پہلے پر محمول ہے۔ اس کی دلیل اگلے ابواب میں صحیح (اسناد سے) وارد احادیث ہیں۔
44 Yahya bin Main ne farmaya keh Hadees Abdullah bin Ukaim (rz) keh humare pass Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) khat aaya (jis mein likha tha) keh tum murdar ke chamde se nafa hasil na karo aur na hi us ke patthon se faidah uthao, ek aur qawi sanad ke sath humare ashaab ne hum ko bayan ki hai keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne likha: "Tum nafa na uthao."
Sheikh Abu Zakariya (rh) isi Hadees ki illat bayan karte hue kehte hain keh humare nazdeek yeh chamda rangne se pehle par mahmool hai. Is ki daleel agle abwab mein sahih (asnad se) ward ahadees hain.
