Chapter on the Impurity of a Large Amount of Water if Contaminated
باب نجاسة الماء الكثير إذا غيرته النجاسة
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1226
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Umama al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Nothing can make water impure, except that which overpowers its taste and smell."

(١٢٢٦) سیدنا ابوامامہ باہلی (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” پانی کو کوئی چیز ناپاک نہیں کرتی، مگر جب اس کے ذائقے اور بوپر غالب آجائے۔
(1226) syedna abu amama bahili (rz) se riwayat hai keh rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : pani ko koi cheez napaak nahin karti, magar jab uske zaeqe aur bau par ghalib aajae.
Abu Az-Zahra reported from his chain of narrators similar to the previous Hadith that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When water reaches two Qullahs (a large vessel), it cannot be made impure by anything except what prevails over its taste and smell."

(١٢٢٧) ابو ازہر نے اپنی سند سے پچھلی حدیث کی طرح نقل کیا ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” جب پانی دو مٹکے ہو تو اس کو کوئی چیز ناپاک نہیں کرتی مگر جو اس کے ذائقے اور بوپر غالب آجائے۔ “
(1227) Abu Azar ne apni sanad se pichhli hadees ki tarah naqal kya hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : ” Jab pani do matke ho to us ko koi cheez napaak nahin karti magar jo us ke zaaiqe aur bo par ghalib aajaye۔ “.
Narrated by Sayyidina Abu Umama (RA), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Water is pure as long as its smell, taste or color does not change due to impurity."

(١٢٢٨) سیدنا ابو امامہ باہلی (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” پانی پاک ہیجب تک اس کی بو ، ذائقہ یا رنگ نجاست گرنے سے تبدیل نہ ہوجائے۔ “
(1228) Sayidna Abu Umama Bahili (RA) se manqol hai ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : " Pani pak hi jab tak is ki boo, zaiqa ya rang najasat girne se tabdeel na ho jaye."
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Water is not impure as long as its smell and taste have not changed.”

(١٢٢٩) سیدنا ابو امامہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” پانی ناپاک نہیں ہوتاجب تک اس کی بو اور ذائقہ تبدیل نہ ہو۔ “
(1229) Syedna Abu Umama (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "pani napak nahi hota jab tak is ki boo aur zaiqa tabdeel na ho."
Imam Shafi'i (may God have mercy on him) said: "When the taste, smell, and color of the water change, it becomes impure." This narration is transmitted through a chain of narrators that is not considered reliable by the scholars of Hadith. This is the opinion of the majority. I have no knowledge of any difference of opinion on this matter.

(١٢٣٠) امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں کہ جب پانی کا ذائقہ ، بو اور رنگ تبدیل ہوجائے تو وہ ناپاک ہوگا والی روایت ایسی سند سے منقول ہے جو محدثین کے ہاں ثابت نہیں۔ یہی جمہور کا قول ہے۔ مجھے ان کے اختلاف کا علم نہیں۔
(1230) Imam Shafi (rh) farmate hain keh jab pani ka zaiqa, bu aur rang tabdeel hojae to woh napaak hoga wali riwayat aisi sanad se manqol hai jo muhadiseen ke han sabit nahin. Yehi jumhoor ka qaul hai. Mujhe un ke ikhtilaf ka ilm nahin.
