Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, while on the pulpit, "You were mentioning charity and avoiding begging." He (the Prophet) then said: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the one that gives, and the lower hand is the one that begs."

(٧٨٧٩) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے منبر پر فرمایا، آپ صدقہ کا تذکرہ کررہے تھے اور سوال سے بچنے کا ۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اُوپر والا ہاتھ نچلے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے اوپر کا ہاتھ بچانے والا ہے اور نیچے کا ہاتھ مانگنے والا ہے۔
(7879) Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne mimbar par farmaya, aap sadqah ka tazkira kar rahe thay aur sawal se bachne ka. Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Upar wala hath nichey hath se behtar hai upar ka hath bachane wala hai aur nichey ka hath mangne wala hai.
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying in a sermon: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the one that spends, and the lower hand is the one that begs."

(٧٨٨٠) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خطبہ دے رہے تھے ـ: اوپر کا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے ، اوپر کا ہاتھ خرچ کرنے والا اور نیچے کا ہاتھ مانگنے والا ہے۔
7880 Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ke maine Rasul Allah (SAW) se suna aur aap (SAW) khutba de rahe the : Upar ka hath niche wale hath se behtar hai, upar ka hath kharch karne wala aur niche ka hath mangne wala hai.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand, for the upper hand is the one that gives and the lower one is the one that begs.”

ٍ (٧٨٨١) ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے اور اوپر کا ہاتھ بچانے والا ہو اور نیچے کا ہاتھ مانگنے والا ہے۔
(7881) Ibn Umar (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne farmaya : Upar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hai aur upar ka hath bachane wala ho aur neeche ka hath mangne wala hai.
Urwah bin Muhammad bin Utaybah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that his father told him on the authority of his grandfather that he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the people of Sad bin Bakr, and he was the youngest of the group. They left him with their belongings and tents. Then they went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and fulfilled their needs. Then he (the Prophet) said, "Is there anyone else left among you?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah! There is a boy whom we have left behind in the tents." So he (the Prophet) ordered them to bring him to him. When he came to him, he (the Prophet) said, "Listen to what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says." So he came to him, and when he (the Prophet) saw him, he said, "Allah has enriched you, so do not ask anything from the people." And he said, "The upper hand is the giving hand, and the lower hand is the taking hand, and surely one will be questioned and made to give account for what Allah has bestowed upon him." He (the narrator) said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spoke to me in our language.

(٧٨٨٤) عروہ بن محمد بن عطیہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے میرے والد نے دادا کے حوالے سے بتایا کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا سعد بن بکرکے لوگوں میں اور میں قوم میں سب سے چھوٹا تھا تو انھوں نے مجھے اپنے سامان، خیموں میں چھوڑ دیا ۔ پھر وہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آئے اور اپنی ضرورت پوری کی۔ پھر فرمایا : کیا تم میں سے کوئی باقی بھی ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : اللہ کے رسول ! ہم میں سے ایک بچہ ہے جسے ہم پیچھے خیموں میں چھوڑ آئے ہیں تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں حکم دیا کہ مجھے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس بھیجیں تو وہ میرے پاس آئے اور انھوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بات سنو تو میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا، جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے دیکھا تو فرمایا : اللہ نے تجھے غنیٰ کیا ہے سو تو لوگوں سے کچھ نہ مانگنا اور فرمایا : دینے والا ہاتھ اوپر والا ہے اور نیچے کا ہاتھ وہ لینے والا ہے اور بیشک جو اللہ کا مال ہے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا جائے گا اور دیا جائے گا فرماتے ہیں : پھر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھ سے ہماری زبان میں بات کی۔
7884 Urawa bin Muhammad bin Atiya (RA) farmate hain ke mujhe mere walid ne dada ke hawale se bataya ke main Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaya Saad bin Bakr ke logon mein aur main qaum mein sab se chhota tha to unhon ne mujhe apne saman, khemon mein chhor diya. Phir wo Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaye aur apni zaroorat poori ki. Phir farmaya: kya tum mein se koi baqi bhi hai? Unhon ne kaha: Allah ke Rasul! Hum mein se ek bachcha hai jise hum peeche khemon mein chhor aaye hain to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhen hukum diya ke mujhe aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass bhejen to wo mere pass aaye aur unhon ne kaha: Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki baat suno to main aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaya, jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mujhe dekha to farmaya: Allah ne tujhe ghani kiya hai so tu logon se kuch na mangna aur farmaya: dene wala hath upar wala hai aur neeche ka hath wo lene wala hai aur beshak jo Allah ka maal hai uske bare mein poocha jayega aur diya jayega farmate hain: phir Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mujh se hamari zuban mein baat ki.
Malik ibn Nadla reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The hands are of three types: The Hand of Allah is the highest, and the hand that gives charity is joined with it, and the hand that begs is the lowest. So protect yourself from begging and do not humiliate yourself.”

(٧٨٨٥) مالک بن نضلہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہاتھ تین ہیں : جو اللہ کا ہاتھ ہے وہ بلند ہے اور دینے والا ہاتھ جو اس کے ساتھ ملا ہوا ہے اور مانگنے والے کا ہاتھ نچلا ہاتھ ہے سو تو بچا ہو ادے دے اور اپنے آپ سے عاجز نہ آ۔
7885 Malik bin Nadla farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ne farmaya : hath teen hain : jo Allah ka hath hai wo buland hai aur dene wala hath jo uske sath mila hua hai aur mangne wale ka hath nichla hath hai so tu bacha hua ade de aur apne aap se aajiz na a.
Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three hands: the Hand of Allah is the upper one, and the giving hand is accompanying, and the hand of the beggar is lower till the Day of Resurrection. So, as long as you are able, avoid begging. And you should look at the one whom Allah has favored with goodness (blessings) and start with your dependents and distribute the remaining wealth. And do not blame the one who refuses (to give) and do not make yourself helpless."

(٧٨٨٦) عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہاتھ تین ہیں ، جو اللہ کا ہاتھ ہے وہ اوپر کا ہے اور دینے والا ہاتھ ساتھ ہے اور مانگنے والے کا ہاتھ قیامت تک نیچے ہے ، سو جس قدرتم میں استطاعت ہے سوال کرنے سے بچو اور جسے اللہ نے بھلائی (خیروبرکت) عطا کی ہے اس پر نظر آنا چاہیے اور اپنے عیال سے آغاز کر اور بچا ہوا مال لٹادے اور کفایت کرنے والے کو ملامت نہ کر اور اپنے سے تو عاجزنہ کر۔
7886 Abdullah bin Masood (RA) farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Hath teen hain, jo Allah ka hath hai wo upar ka hai aur dene wala hath sath hai aur mangne wale ka hath qayamat tak niche hai, so jis qadar muj me istataat hai sawal karne se bacho aur jise Allah ne bhalayi (khairobarkat) ata ki hai us par nazar ana chahie aur apne eyal se aghaz kar aur bacha hua mal lutaade aur kafaayat karne wale ko malamat na kar aur apne se to aajiz na kar.
