Chapter on What to Say Upon Hearing the Iqamah

باب ما يقول إذا سمع الإقامة

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1940

It is narrated by Sayyidina Abi Imamah or some other companion that when Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) started saying the Iqamah, he said: “The prayer has begun.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah has established it and may He make it continuous.”

(١٩٤٠) سیدنا ابی امامہ یا کسی اور صحابی سے روایت ہے کہ بلال (رض) اقامت کہنا شروع ہوئے جب انھوں نے کہا : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلاَۃُ تو نبی نے فرمایا : ( (أَقَامَہَا اللَّہُ وَأَدَامَہَا) )

(1940) Sayyidina Abi Imama ya kisi aur Sahabi se riwayat hai ki Bilal (Razi Allahu Anhu) iqamat kehna shuru huye jab unhon ne kaha: Qad qamatissalah to Nabi ne farmaya: ((Aqamaha Allahu waadamaha)).

١٩٤٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ،أَوْ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ بِلَالًا أَخَذَ فِي الْإِقَامَةِ فَلَمَّا قَالَ:قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَقَامَهَا اللهُ وَأَدَامَهَا "وَقَالَ فِي سَائِرِ الْإِقَامَةِ كَنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ فِي الْأَذَانِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: وَهَذَا إِنْ صَحَّ شَاهِدٌ لِمَا اسْتَحْسَنَهُ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ قَوْلِهِمُ: اللهُمَّ أَقِمْهَا وَأَدِمْهَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ صَالِحِ أَهْلِهَا عَمَلًا وَبَعْضُ هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةِ فِيمَا

Narrated by Abu 'Eisa from Sawari: When Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would hear the Adhan, he would say: “O Allah, Lord of this answered call, the call to which is responded, the call of truth and the word of piety, cause me to die upon it, and resurrect me upon it, and make me among its righteous people in action on the Day of Resurrection.”

(١٩٤١) أبی عیسیٰ ا سواری سے روایت ہے کہ ابن عمر (رض) جب اذان سنتے تو کہتے : اللَّہُمَّ رَبِّ ہَذِہِ الدَّعْوَۃِ الْمُسْتَجَابَۃِ الْمُسْتَجَابِ لَہَا دَعْوَۃِ الْحَقِّ وَکَلِمَۃِ التَّقْوَی تَوَفَّنِی عَلَیْہَا، وَأَحْیِنِی عَلَیْہَا، وَاجْعَلْنِی مِنْ صَالِحِ أَہْلِہَا عَمَلاً یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃِ ۔

(1941) abi isa asawari se riwayat hai ki ibn umar (raz) jab azan sunte to kahte : allahumma rabbi hadhihi aldda'wati almustajabati almustajab laha da'wati alhaqqi wakalimati alttaqwa tawaffani alayha, waahyeni alayha, waj'alni min salihi ahliha amalan yawma alqiyamati ..

١٩٤١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ،وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا:ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ أَبِي عِيسَى الْأُسْوَارِيِّ،قَالَ:كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْأَذَانَ،قَالَ:اللهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ الْمُسْتَجَابَةِ الْمُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ وَكَلِمَةُ التَّقْوَى تَوَفَّنِي عَلَيْهَا وَأَحْيِنِي عَلَيْهَا وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ صَالِحِ أَهْلِهَا عَمَلًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "
