Chapter on a Man Standing at the End of Men's Rows to Look at Women, Ignoring the Verse 'He Knows the Deceit of the Eyes and What the Breasts Conceal'

باب الرجل يقف في آخر صفوف الرجال لينظر إلى النساء، ولا يفكر في قوله تعالى يعلم خائنة الأعين وما تخفي الصدور

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 5169

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that some handsome women used to pray behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so some men would stand in the last row (of men) and look at them. Some used to look at them from under their armpits," and some would come to the first row so that they would not be able to see them. So Allah, the Exalted, revealed this verse: {And indeed We know those of you who push forward, and indeed We know those who lag behind.} [Al-Hijr: 24] "We know those of you who are in the first rows of prayer and those who are in the last rows."

(٥١٦٩) ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ بعض خوبصورت عورتیں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھتی تھیں، کچھ لوگ مردوں کی آخری صف میں کھڑے ہوتے اور ان کی طرف دیکھتے۔ بعض ایسے تھے کہ وہ اپنی بغلوں کے نیچے سے ان کی طرف دیکھتے “ اور بعض ایسے بھی تھے جو پہلی صف کی طرف آتے تاکہ ان کو نہ دیکھ پائیں، اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت { وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِینَ مِنْکُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِینَ } [الحجر : ٢٤] نازل کردی “ ہم نماز میں پہلی صفوں میں جانے والوں اور آخری صفوں میں رہنے والوں کو جانتے ہیں۔ “

(5169) Ibn Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh baaz khoobsorat aurten Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke peeche namaz parhti thin, kuch log mardon ki aakhri saf mein kharay hote aur un ki taraf dekhte. Baaz aise thay keh woh apni baglon ke neeche se un ki taraf dekhte “ aur baaz aise bhi thay jo pehli saf ki taraf aate taake un ko na dekh pain, Allah Taala ne yeh ayat { WALQAD `ALIMNAA ALMUSTAQDIMINA MINKUM WALQAD `ALIMNAA ALMUSTA'KHIRINA } [Al-Hajar : 24] nazil kardi “ hum namaz mein pehli saffon mein jane walon aur aakhri saffon mein rehne walon ko jante hain “.

٥١٦٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ النُّكْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ،عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:" كَانَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تُصَلِّي خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَجْمَلَ النَّاسِ،فَكَانَ نَاسٌ فِي آخِرِ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيْهَا قَالَ:وَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ، وَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ يَتَقَدَّمُ إِلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ لَا يَرَاهَا، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ{وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ}[الحجر: ٢٤]

Nuh bin Qais narrated that beautiful women would pray behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Some people would go to the front rows so they couldn't see them, and some would stand in the last row. When they would bow, they would look from under their armpits and keep their hands away from their sides. Allah, the Exalted, revealed this verse: {And We know well those of you who hasten forward and those of you who lag behind.} [Al-Hijr: 24] We know those who push forward and those who stay behind.


Grade: Da'if

(٥١٧٠) نوح بن قیس فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے حسین عورتیں نماز پڑھتی تھیں۔ بعض لوگ پہلی صفوں میں چلے جاتے تاکہ ان کو دیکھ نہ سکیں اور بعض آخری صف میں کھڑے ہوتے۔ جب رکوع کرتے تو اپنی بغلوں کے نیچے سے دیکھتے اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو پہلوؤں سے دور رکھتے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل کی : { وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِینَ مِنْکُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِینَ } [الحجر : ٢٤] ہم آگے بڑھ جانے والوں کو بھی جانتے ہیں اور پیچھے رہ جانے والوں کو بھی۔

(5170) Noh bin Qais farmate hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke peechhe haseen aurten namaz parhti thin. Baaz log pehli safo mein chale jate taake unko dekh na sakein aur baaz aakhri saf mein kharay hote. Jab ruku karte to apni baghlon ke neeche se dekhte aur apne hathon ko pahlaon se door rakhte. Allah Ta'ala ne yeh ayat nazil ki: { Walqad AAlamnaa lmustaqdimina minkum walaqad AAlamnaa lmusta'khireen } [Al-Hijr : 24] Hum aage barh jane walon ko bhi jante hain aur peechhe reh jane walon ko bhi.

٥١٧٠ - وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ.إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ:" كَانَتْ تُصَلِّي خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ حَسْنَاءُ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ، وَكَانَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ يَسْتَقْدِمُ فِي الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ لِئَلَّا يَرَاهَا، وَيَسْتَأْخِرُ بَعْضُهُمْ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي الصَّفِّ الْمُؤَخَّرِ،فَإِذَا رَكَعَ قَالَ:هَكَذَا، وَنَظَرَ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ وَجَافَى يَدَهُ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي شَأْنِهَا{وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ}[الحجر: ٢٤]
