Chapter on the Adhan of a Blind Person When a Seeing Person Has Already Called or Informed Him of the Time
باب أذان الأعمى إذا أذن بصير قبله أو أخبره بالوقت

Salim bin 'Abdullah narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) gives the Adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the Adhan." Ibn Shihab said: "Ibn Umm Maktum was blind, so he would not give the Adhan until it was said to him, 'Morning has come, morning has come.'"

(٢٠٠٣) سالم بن عبداللہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” بلال (رض) رات کو اذان دیتا ہے تم کھاؤ اور پیو یہاں تک کہ ابن ام مکتوم اذان دے۔ ابن شھاب کہتے ہیں : ابن ام مکتوم نابینا تھے وہ اذان نہیں دیتے تھے جب تک کہ ان سے کہا جاتا کہ تو نے صبح کردی تو نے صبح کردی۔
(2003) Salim bin Abdullah apne walid se naql farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : ” Bilal (RA) raat ko azan deta hai tum khao aur piyo yahan tak ki Ibn Um Maktoom azan de. Ibn Shihab kahte hain : Ibn Um Maktoom nabina the wo azan nahi dete the jab tak ki un se kaha jata ki tune subah kardi tune subah kardi.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidah Aisha (RA) that Ibn Umm Maktum (RA) was the muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he was blind.

(٢٠٠٤) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ابن ام مکتوم (رض) رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے مؤذن تھے اور وہ نابینا تھے۔
(2004) Sayyida Ayesha (RA) se riwayat hai ki Ibn Umm Maktum (RA) Rasul Allah (SAW) ke muazzin thay aur woh nabeena thay.
(2005) (a) It is narrated from Abi 'Urubah that Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) did not like to appoint a blind person as a muezzin. (b) This narration and the narration of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) are applicable when the muezzin is alone and there is no sighted person to tell him the time of the Adhan.

(٢٠٠٥) (الف) ابی عروبہ سے روایت ہے کہ ابن زبیر (رض) نابیناکو مؤذن بنانا پسند نہیں کرتے تھے۔ (ب) یہ روایت اور ابن مسعود (رض) والی روایت اس صورت پر محمول ہے جب مؤذن اکیلا ہو اور کوئی بینا شخص اسے اذان کا وقت بتلانے والا نہ ہو۔
(2005) (alif) abi urooba se riwayat hai ki ibn zubair (rz) nabina ko muazzin banana pasand nahi karte the. (be) yeh riwayat aur ibn masud (rz) wali riwayat is surat par mahmul hai jab muazzin akela ho aur koi beena shakhs use azan ka waqt batlane wala na ho.
