Chapter on What Is Recommended for Him to Remember Allah During His Delay
باب من استحب له أن يذكر الله في مكثه ذلك
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3005
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sit after the prayer only as long as it took to recite this supplication: “Allahumma antas-salamu wa minkas-salamu, tabarakta ya dhal-jalaali wal-ikram. O Allah, You are the Peace, and from You is peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor.”

(٣٠٠٥) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز کے بعد صرف اتنی دیر بیٹھتے جتنی دیر یہ دعا پڑھتے : اللہم انت السلام۔۔۔ اے اللہ تو ہی سلامتی والا ہے اور تجھ ہی سے سلامتی ہے، اے بزرگی والے اور عزت والے ! تو بڑی برکت والا ہے۔ “
(3005) Syeda Ayesha (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) namaz ke baad sirf itni dair baithte jitni dair yeh dua parhte: Allahumma anta as-salam... Aye Allah tu hi salamti wala hai aur tujh hi se salamti hai, aye buzrgi wale aur izzat wale! Tu bari barkat wala hai.
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), reported that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to get up after finishing the prayer, he would say “Astaghfirullah” (I seek forgiveness from Allah) three times, then he would say: “Allahumma Antas Salam… O Allah, You are the Peace, and from You is the peace. O Possessor of majesty and honor! Blessed are You, the Possessor of majesty and honor.

(٣٠٠٦) رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے آزاد کردہ غلام حضرت ثوبان (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نماز سے فارغ ہو کر اٹھنے کا ارادہ فرماتے تو تین بار استغفر اللہ کہتے، پھر ” اَللّٰہُمَّ اَنْتَ السَّلَامُ۔۔۔“ پڑھتے ،ــاے اللہ ! تو ہی سلامتی والا ہے اور تجھ ہی سے سلامتی ہے۔ اے بزرگی اور عرش والے ! تو بڑی برکت والا ہے۔
3006 Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke azad kardah gulam Hazrat Sauban (Razi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) jab namaz se farigh hokar uthne ka irada farmate to teen bar Astaghfirullah kehte, phir “Allahuma Antas Salam..” padhte, aye Allah! Tu hi salamati wala hai aur tujh hi se salamati hai. Aye badi aur arsh wale! Tu badi barkat wala hai.
(3007) (a) A similar narration from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) is transmitted through another chain of narration, with the addition of "Wa ilaykas salam, tabarakta ya Thal-Jalali wal-Ikram (And unto You is peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)."
(b) Walid said: I asked al-Awza'i: How did they seek forgiveness? He said: One should say: "Astaghfirullah! Astaghfirullah! (I seek forgiveness from Allah! I seek forgiveness from Allah!)."
(c) Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this hadith, through Dawud ibn Rashid, but he did not mention "Tabarakta Rabbana ya Thal-Jalali wal-Ikram (Blessed is our Lord, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)." Then, he mentioned the statement of al-Awza'i.

(٣٠٠٧) (ا) ثوبان (رض) سے اس جیسی حدیث ایک دوسری سند سے منقول ہے، البتہ اس میں انھوں نے ” وَإِلَیْکَ السَّلاَمُ ۔ تَبَارَکْتَ یَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِکْرَامِ “ کا اضافہ کیا ہے۔
(ب) ولید کہتے ہیں : میں نے اوزاعی سے پوچھا : استغفار کیسے کرتے تھے ؟ انھوں نے بتایا کہ استغفر اللہ ! استغفر اللہ کہا جائے۔
(ج) امام مسلم (رح) نے یہ روایت داؤد بن رشید کے واسطے سے بیان کی ہے مگر انھوں نے ” تَبَارَکْتَ ربنا یَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِکْرَامِ “ ذکر نہیں کیا۔ پھر اوزاعی کا قول ذکر کیا۔
(3007) (a) Thawban (RA) se is jaisi hadees ek dusri sanad se manqool hai, albatta is mein unhon ne “wa ilayka as-salam. Tabarakta ya za al-jalali wal-ikram” ka izapha kiya hai.
(b) Walid kahte hain : mein ne Awzai se poocha : istighfar kaise karte the? Unhon ne bataya ke astaghfirullah! Astaghfirullah kaha jaye.
(c) Imam Muslim (RH) ne ye riwayat Dawud bin Rasheed ke waste se bayan ki hai magar unhon ne “tabarakta rabbana ya za al-jalali wal-ikram” zikar nahin kiya. Phir Awzai ka qaul zikar kiya.
