Chapter on Reciting the Adhan While Riding or Sitting
باب الأذان راكبا وجالسا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1841
Narrated by Nafi: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to sometimes give the morning Adhan while riding his mount, then he would dismount and offer the Iqamah.

(١٨٤١) نافع سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) بعض اوقات اپنی سواری پر بیٹھ کر صبح کی اذان دیتے تھے، پھر زمین پر کھڑے ہو کر اقامت کہتے۔
(1841) Nafi se riwayat hai ke Sayyidna Ibn Umar (RA) baz auqat apni sawari par beth kar subah ki azan dete the, phir zameen par khare ho kar iqamat kahte.
Hasan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, to give the call to prayer while traveling. He gave the call to prayer upon his mount, then he dismounted and prayed two rak'ahs. Then he was commanded again, so he made the call to prayer for the shortened prayer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then led them in the morning prayer.

(١٨٤٣) حسن سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بلال (رض) کو سفر میں حکم دیا، انھوں نے اپنی سواری پر اذان دی، پھر نیچے اترے، دو رکعتیں پڑھیں، پھر ان کو حکم دیا گیا تو انھوں نے اقامت کہی، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں صبح کی نماز پڑھائی۔
(1843) Hasan se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wasallam) ne Bilal (RA) ko safar mein hukm diya, unhon ne apni sawari par azaan di, phir neeche utre, do rakat namaz parhi, phir un ko hukm diya gaya to unhon ne iqamat kahi, aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Aalihi Wasallam) ne unhen subah ki namaz parhayi.
(1844) (a) Narrated Hasan bin Muhammad: I went to Abu Zaid Ansari. He pronounced the Adhan and Iqamah while he was sitting. A person came forward and led us in prayer, and he was lame; his foot had been injured in the way of Allah.
(b) It is reported from `Ata' bin Abi Rabah that he considered it undesirable to pronounce the Adhan while sitting without an excuse.

(١٨٤٤) (الف) حسن بن محمد سے روایت ہے کہ میں ابو زید انصاری کے پاس گیا، انھوں نے اذان دی اور اقامت کہی اور وہ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ ایک شخص آگے بڑھا اور ہمیں نماز پڑھائی اور وہ لنگڑا تھا، اس کا پاؤں اللہ کے راستے میں زخمی ہوگیا تھا۔
(ب) عطاء بن أبی رباح سے منقول ہے کہ وہ ناپسند سمجھتے تھے کہ اذان بغیر کسی عذر کے بیٹھ کر دے۔
(1844) (alif) Hasan bin Muhammad se riwayat hai ki main Abu Zaid Ansari ke pas gaya, unhon ne azan di aur iqamat kahi aur wo baithe hue the. Ek shakhs aage badha aur hamen namaz parhayi aur wo langra tha, uska paon Allah ke raste me zakhmi hogaya tha.
