Chapter on the Imam Shortening the Recitation Due to an Event
باب الإمام يخفف القراءة للأمر يحدث
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4041
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would be praying and hear a child crying, he would shorten the prayer.

(٤٠٤١) سیدنا انس (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز پڑھ رہے ہوتے اور بچے کے رونے کی آواز سنتے تو چھوٹی سورت پڑھ لیتے۔
(4041) sydna ans (rz) bayan krty hain k rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz parh rhy hoty aur bache k rony ki awaz sunty to chhoti surat parh lety.
Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to him that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I stand up in prayer and intend to recite long, then I hear the cry of a child and I shorten the prayer so that it will not be difficult for his mother."

(٤٠٤٢) قتادہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) نے انھیں حدیث بیان کی کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں نماز میں کھڑا ہوتا ہوں اور ارادہ کرتا ہوں کہ لمبی قرات کروں گا، پھر کسی بچے کے رونے کی آواز سنتا ہوں تو نماز مختصر کردیتا ہوں تاکہ اس کی ماں پر دشوار نہ گزرے۔
Qatada (Razi Allah Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Sayyidna Anas bin Malik (Razi Allah Anhu) ne unhen hadees bayan ki ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: main namaz mein khara hota hun aur irada karta hun ke lambi qirat karunga, phir kisi bache ke rone ki awaz sunta hun to namaz mukhtasar karta hun taake uski maan par dushwar na guzare.
(4043) (a) Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When I stand in prayer, I intend to recite it at length. Then I hear the cry of a child, so I shorten the prayer, feeling difficulty for his mother."
(b) A similar narration has been reported from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) al-Ansari.

(٤٠٤٣) (ا) سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں نماز میں ہوتا ہوں تو ارادہ کرتا ہوں کہ اس میں لمبی قرات کروں گا، پھر میں کسی بچے کے رونے کی آواز سنتا ہوں تو اس کی ماں پر دشواری محسوس کرتے ہوئے نماز کو مختصر کردیتا ہوں۔
(ب) ابو قتادہ (رض) انصاری سے بھی اس کے ہم معنیٰ روایت منقول ہے۔
(4043) (a) Syedna Anas bin Malik (RA) bayan karte hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : main namaz mein hota hun to irada karta hun keh is mein lambi qirat karun ga, phir main kisi bache ke rone ki aawaz sunta hun to us ki maan par dushwari mehsoos karte huye namaz ko mukhtasar kar deta hun.
(b) Abu Qatada (RA) Ansari se bhi is ke hum ma'eni riwayat manqool hai.
