Chapter on the One Who Says to Pray It Whenever One Remembers
باب من قال: يصليه متى ذكره
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4533
(4533) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever sleeps through his Witr prayer or forgets it, let him offer it when he remembers it, be it in the morning or whenever he remembers.”

(٤٥٣٣) ابو سعید خدری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو اپنے وتر سے سو گیا یا اسے بھول گیا تو وہ صبح کے وقت یا جب بھی اس کو یاد پڑھ لے۔
(4533) abu said khudri (rz) se riwayat hai keh nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : jo apne witr se so gaya ya use bhul gaya to woh subah ke waqt ya jab bhi us ko yaad parh le.
(4534) Wabra reported: I asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about a person who delays Witr until sunrise. Should he offer it? He said: Do you think that if you delay the morning prayer until sunrise you would offer it? The narrator said: I said: Wait, wait.

(٤٥٣٤) وبرہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن عمر (رض) سے اس شخص بارے میں پوچھا جو وتر طلوع شمس تک چھوڑ دیتا ہے کہ کیا وہ اسے پڑھے ؟ وہ کہنے لگے : آپ کا خیال ہے کہ اگر آپ صبح کی نماز کو سورج طلوع ہونے تک چھوڑ دیں تو کیا آپ اس کو پڑھیں گے : راوی کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : ٹھہر ٹھہر۔
(4534) Wabrah kahte hain ke maine Ibn Umar (RA) se is shakhs bare mein poocha jo witr tulue shams tak chhor deta hai ke kya wo use parhe? Wo kahne lage: Aap ka khayal hai ke agar aap subah ki namaz ko sooraj tulue hone tak chhor den to kya aap us ko parhen ge? Ravi kahte hain: Maine kaha: Thehr thehr.
(4535) Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Muntahir narrated from his father that he was in the mosque of Amr bin Sharhabeel. The Iqamah (call just before prayer) for prayer was given. The people were waiting for him. When he came, he said: I was praying Witr.
The narrator said that Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked if Witr could be prayed after the Adhan (call to prayer), he said: Yes, even after the Iqamah.
The narrator said: He narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) slept through the prayer until the sun rose, then you woke up and prayed.

(٤٥٣٥) ابراہیم بن محمد بن منتشر اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ مسجد عمرو بن شرحبیل میں تھے۔ نماز کے لیے اقامت کہی گئی۔ لوگ ان کا انتظار کر رہے تھے، وہ آئے تو انھوں نے کہا : میں وتر پڑھ رہا تھا۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے سوال کیا گیا کہ کیا اذان کے بعد وتر ہے تو وہ فرمانے لگے : ہاں اقامت کے بعد بھی۔ راوی کہتے ہیں : انھوں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے نقل کیا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز سے سو گئے یہاں تک کہ سورج طلوع ہوا پھر آپ بیدار ہوئے اور نماز پڑھی۔
