Chapter on people disagreeing on the width of the road to their preferences
باب القوم يختلفون في سعة الطريق المئتاء إلى ما أحبوه
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 11860
`(11860) Ikrimah reported: I heard Abu Huraira (RA) saying that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) gave a decision that a neighbor may lay his beam on the wall of his neighbor, if he likes, even though he (the neighbor) may dislike it.
He (Ikrimah) said: I heard that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) gave a decision: When people quarrel on the road, they should keep to a width of seven cubits.
Grade: Da'if
(١١٨٦٠) عکرمہ کہتے ہیں : میں نے ابوہریرہ (رض) سے سنا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فیصلہ کیا کہ ہمسایہ اپنی شھتیر اپنے ہمسائے کی دیوارپر رکھ سکتا ہے، اگر وہ چاہے ۔ اگرچہ وہ (ہمسایہ ) انکار کرے۔
اور سنا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فیصلہ کیا : اگر لوگ راستے میں جھگڑا کریں تو سات ہاتھ راستہ مقرر کرلو۔
(11860) Akrma kehte hain : mein ne Abu Huraira (RA) se suna keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne faisla kya keh hamsayh apni shatir apne hamsayh ki deewar par rakh sakta hai, agar wo chahe . Agarcheh wo (hamsayh ) inkar kare.
Aur suna keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne faisla kya : agar log raste mein jhagda karen to saat hath rasta muqarrar kar lo.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When you are in doubt about the road, then designate a space of seven cubits, so that riders may pass by from both sides.

(١١٨٦٢) حضرت ابن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم راستے کے بارے میں شک میں پڑجاؤ تو سات ہاتھ مقرر کرلو، اس میں دونوں طرف سے سواریاں گزر جاتی ہیں۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Jab tum raaste ke bare mein shak mein par jao to saat hath muqarrar karlo, is mein dono taraf se sawariyan guzar jati hain.
Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ruled regarding open land that when its owners intend to construct buildings on it, they should leave a path of seven cubits. He (the Prophet) said: "The name of this path is 'Mit'a'."

(١١٨٦٣) حضرت عبادہ بن صامت (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا کشادہ زمین کے بارے میں فیصلہ ہے کہ جب اس کے اہل عمارت بنانا چاہیں تو اس میں سات ہاتھ راستہ چھوڑ دیں۔ فرمایا : اس راستے کا نام میتاء ہے۔
(11863) Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka kushada zameen ke bare mein faisla hai ki jab uske ahl imarat banana chahein to us mein saat hath rasta chhor dein. Farmaya: Is raste ka naam meta hai.
