Chapter on the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him) not receiving obligatory alms
باب آل محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم لا يعطون من الصدقات المفروضات
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 13231
Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) picked up a date from the charity dates and put it in his mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Kikh, kikh” so that he would throw it out. Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you not know that we do not eat charity?”

(١٣١٣٢) حضرت حسن بن علی نے صدقے کی کھجور میں سے ایک کھجور پکڑی اور کھالی نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کِخ کِخ تاکہ وہ پھینک دے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ ہم صدقہ نہیں کھاتے۔
Hazrat Hasan bin Ali ne sadqay ki khajoor mein se aik khajoor pakri aur khaali Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Kikh Kikh taake woh phenk de, phir Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : kya tumhein maloom nahin ke hum sadqa nahin khate.
(13132) Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): Dates were brought to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as Sadaqat (charity) from the heaps of dates of the people, and the people began presenting (their dates) till a huge heap collected before him. Hasan bin 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was playing with those dates. He took one date and put it into his mouth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) took it out of his mouth and then said: "Don't you know that the members of Muhammad's family do not eat Sadaqah?"

(١٣١٣٢) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس لوگوں کے ڈھیروں سے صدقہ کی کھجوریں لائی گئیں، لوگ اپنی اپنی کھجوریں پیش کرنے لگے حتیٰ کہ آپ کے پاس کھجوروں کا ڈھیر لگ گیا۔ حسن بن علی (رض) ان کھجوروں سے کھیل رہے تھے انھوں نے ایک کھجور پکڑی اور کھالی۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو ان کے منہ سے نکل کر پھینک دیا پھر فرمایا : کیا تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ آلِ محمد صدقہ نہیں کھاتے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) ke paas logon ke dheron se sadqah ki khajoorein laayi gayi, log apni apni khajoorein pesh karne lage hatta ke aap ke paas khajooron ka dher lag gaya. Hasan bin Ali (RA) in khajooron se khel rahe the unhon ne ek khajoor pakri aur khaali. Nabi (SAW) ne uss ko unke munh se nikal kar phenk diya phir farmaya: kya tumhein maloom nahin ke Aal e Muhammad sadqah nahin khate.
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said: I entered my house and found a date lying on the floor. I picked it up to eat it, but then I thought it might be from the charity, so I threw it away.

(١٣٢٣٣) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : میں اپنے گھر والوں کی طرف گیا تو میں نے زمین پر گری ہوئی کھجور دیکھی۔ میں نے اس کو اٹھایا اور کھانا چاہا، لیکن مجھے یہ خیال آیا کہ ہوسکتا ہے یہ صدقے کی ہو، پھر میں نے اس کو پھینک دیا۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: mein apne ghar walon ki taraf gaya to mein ne zameen par giri hui khajoor dekhi. Mein ne us ko uthaya aur khana chaha, lekin mujhe yeh khayal aaya keh ho sakta hai yeh sadqay ki ho, phir mein ne us ko phenk diya.
Narrated Anas (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) saw a date and said, "Were I not afraid that it might be from the Sadaqah (charity) I would have eaten it."

(١٣٢٣٤) حضرت انس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک کھجور دیکھی، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ اگر میں خوف نہ ہوتا کہ یہ صدقے کی ہے تو میں کھا لیتا ہے۔
(13234) hazrat anas (raz) se riwayat hai ki nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek khajoor dekhi, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya ki agar main khauf na hota ki yah sadqe ki hai to main kha leta.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we were sitting with Ibn Abbas at the house of a young man from Banu Hashim. He said, "By Allah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not give us any preference over others except in three things: He commanded us to perform ablution well, and he commanded us not to eat charity, and he commanded us not to breed donkeys with horses."

(١٣٢٣٦) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم ابن عباس کے پاس بنی ہاشم کے نوجوان کے گھر بیٹھے تھے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہ اللہ کی قسم ہم کو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کسی چیز میں بھی اپنے ساتھ خاص نہیں کیا سوائے تین چیزوں کے : ہم کو حکم دیا کہ ہم اچھے طریقے سے وضو کریں اور ہم کو حکم دیا کہ ہم صدقہ نہ کھائیں اور نہ ہم گدھوں کی گھوڑوں پر جفتی کرائیں۔
Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ki hum Ibn Abbas ke pas Bani Hashim ke naujawan ke ghar baithe the, unhon ne farmaya ki Allah ki kasam hum ko Nabi (SAW) ne kisi cheez mein bhi apne sath khas nahin kiya siwaye teen cheezon ke : hum ko hukum diya ki hum achhe tarike se wazu karen aur hum ko hukum diya ki hum sadqa na khayain aur na hum gadhon ki ghoron par jufti karayain.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that my father sent me to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to give him camels that were specifically for charity. There are two possible interpretations of this: 1. This was before charity was prohibited for Banu Hashim, then it was abrogated. 2. It is possible that they borrowed it from Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) from the poor, then they gave it to him as charity of camels.

(١٣٢٣٧) ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے میرے والد نے بھیجا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف اونٹ دے آؤں جو خاص صدقے کے تھے۔ اس میں دو معنوں کا احتمال ہے : 1 یہ بنو ہاشم کے لیے صدقہ کی حرمت سے پہلے تھا، پھر منسوخ ہوگیا 2 ممکن ہے انھوں نے مساکین سے حضرت عباس (رض) سے مستعار لیا ہو، پھر انھیں اونٹوں کے صدقہ میں دے دیا۔
Ibn Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh mujhe mere walid ne bheja keh Nabi (SAW) ki taraf unt de aaon jo khas sadqe ke the. Is mein do maeno ka ehtemaal hai : 1 yeh Banu Hashim ke liye sadqe ki hurmat se pehle tha, phir mansukh hogaya 2 mumkin hai unhon ne masakino se Hazrat Abbas (RA) se mustaar liya ho, phir unhen unton ke sadqe mein de diya.
