Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade drinking while standing. Qatadah said: We said: What is the ruling regarding eating? So, he said: That is even worse.

(١٤٦٣٩) انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کھڑے ہو کر پینے سے ڈانٹا۔ قتادہ کہتے ہیں : ہم نے کہا : کھانے کے بارے میں کیا حکم ہے ؟ تو فرمایا : یہ تو بہت ہی زیادہ بری چیز ہے۔
14639 Anas bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne kharay ho kar pene se daanta. Qatadah kehte hain: Hum ne kaha: Khane ke bare mein kya hukum hai? To farmaya: Yeh to bahut hi zyada buri cheez hai.
Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade drinking while standing.

(١٤٦٤٠) حضرت ابو سعید خدری (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کھڑے ہو کر پینے سے ڈانٹا ہے۔

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should drink while standing, and if he drinks (while standing) then he should vomit it out.

(١٤٦٤١) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم میں سے کوئی کھڑا ہو کر نہ پیے، جو پیے تو وہ قے کر دے۔
(14641) Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum mein se koi khara ho kar na piye, jo piye to woh qay kar de.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If the one who drinks while standing knew what is in his abdomen, he would vomit it out."

(14644) Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a hadith similar to that of Zuhri. When Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) heard about it, he asked for water, stood up, and drank it.

(١٤٦٤٤) ابوہریرہ (رض) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے زہری کی حدیث کی مانند نقل فرماتے ہیں حضرت علی (رض) کو خبر ملی تو انھوں نے پانی منگوا کر کھڑے ہو کر پیا۔
Abu Hurairah (RA) Nabi (SAW) se Zehri ki hadees ki manind naql farmate hain Hazrat Ali (RA) ko khabar mili to unhon ne pani mangwa kar kharay ho kar piya.
Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) drank Zamzam while standing, and it was I who gave him the water in a bucket while he was at Zamzam.

(١٤٦٤٥) حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے زمزم کے پاس سے گزرتے ہوئے پانی مانگا تو میں زمزم سے بھرا ہوا ڈول آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس لے کر آیا تو آپ نے کھڑے ہو کر پیا۔
(14645) Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) ne Zamzam ke pass se guzarte hue pani manga to main Zamzam se bhara hua dol aap (SAW) ke pass lekar aaya to aap ne kharay ho kar piya.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drinking Zamzam water while standing. In a narration by Shadhan, it is stated: I gave Zamzam water to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he drank it while standing.

(١٤٦٤٦) حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو زمزم کھڑے ہو کر پیتے دیکھا۔ شاذان کی روایت میں ہے کہ میں نے نبی کو زمزم کا پانی پلایا جو آپ نے کھڑے ہو کر پیا۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko Zamzam kharay ho kar peete dekha. Shazan ki riwayat mein hai keh maine Nabi ko Zamzam ka pani pilaya jo Aap ne kharay ho kar piya.
Nizal bin Sabra narrated that a utensil of water was brought to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in an open place, so he stood up and drank water, though the people disliked drinking while standing. He said, “I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) doing like this as you saw me doing.” Then he took water. I think he performed ablution of his face, feet, and hands. Then he said, “This is the ablution of the one whose ablution has not been nullified.”

(١٤٦٤٧) نزال بن سبرہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) کے پاس ایک کشادہ جگہ میں پانی کا برتن لایا گیا تو انھوں نے کھڑے ہو کر پانی پیا، حالانکہ لوگ کھڑے ہو کر پینے کو ناپسند کرتے تھے اور فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس طرح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا جیسا کہ تم نے مجھے کرتے ہوئے دیکھا۔ پھر پانی لیا۔ میرا خیال ہے کہ آپ نے چہرے، پاؤں اور ہاتھوں کا مسح کیا۔ پھر فرمایا : یہ اس کا وضو ہے جو بےوضو نہیں ہوا۔
Nizaal bin Sabra kehte hain ki Hazrat Ali (RA) ke paas ek kushada jagah mein pani ka bartan laya gaya to unhon ne kharay ho kar pani piya halanki log kharay ho kar pine ko napasand karte thay aur farmaya main ne Rasool Allah (SAW) ko is tarah karte huye dekha jaisa ki tum ne mujhe karte huye dekha phir pani liya mera khayal hai ki aap ne chehre paon aur hathon ka masah kiya phir farmaya yeh is ka wazu hai jo bewazu nahi hua
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we used to eat and drink while standing, and we would also do so while walking.

(١٤٦٤٩) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے دور میں کھڑے ہو کر کھاتے اور پیتے تھے اور ہم چل بھی رہے ہوتے تھے۔
(14649) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) farmate hain ki hum Rasool Allah (SAW) ke daur mein kharay ho kar khate aur peete thay aur hum chal bhi rahe hote thay.
Zahri narrates that Saad bin Abi Waqas and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them) did not see any harm in drinking while standing, and they both used to drink while standing. And it is narrated from Abu Bakr that he also used to drink while standing.

(١٤٦٥٠) زہری فرماتے ہیں کہ سعد بن ابی وقاص (رض) اور حضرت عائشہ (رض) کھڑے ہو کر پینے میں کوئی حرج نہ محسوس کرتے تھے اور وہ دونوں کھڑے ہو کر پی لیتے تھے اور ابوبکرہ سے منقول ہے کہ وہ بھی کھڑے ہو کر پی لیتے تھے۔
(14650) Zahri farmate hain ki Saad bin Abi Waqas (RA) aur Hazrat Ayesha (RA) kharay ho kar pine mein koi haraj na mehsoos karte thay aur wo donon kharay ho kar pee lete thay aur Abu Bakr se manqol hai ki wo bhi kharay ho kar pee lete thay.
