Khalid bin Darik said: I asked Muhairiz: Can food and animal feed be traded in the Roman territories? He replied: I heard Fudalah bin Ubaid say: Some people want to make me deviate from my religion. This will not happen until death overtakes me. I met Muhammad and his companions. Whoever buys or sells grain and food in the Roman territories from the spoils of war, one-fifth of it belongs to Allah and the spoils also belong to the Muslims.

(١٨٠٠٠) خالد بن دریک کہتے ہیں : میں نے محیریز سے پوچھا : کیا روم کے علاقہ میں طعام اور جانوروں کے چارہ وغیر فروخت ہوسکتے ہیں تو انھوں نے کہا : میں فضالہ بن عبید سے سنا وہ کہتے تھے : کچھ لوگ مجھے میرے دین سے پھسلانا چاہتے ہیں۔ یہ نہیں ہوگا حتیٰ کہ مجھے موت آجائے۔ میں محمد اور اس کے ساتھیوں سے ملوں۔ مال غنیمت میں سے جو کوئی روم کے علاقہ میں خریدو فروخت کرے گا غلے اور طعام کی اس میں اللہ کا خمس بھی ہے اور مسلمانوں کا مال فیٔ بھی ہے۔
(18000) Khalid bin Dareek kehte hain : mein ne Mohairiz se poocha : kya Room ke ilaqe mein taam aur janwaron ke chara waghaira farokht ho sakte hain to unhon ne kaha : mein Fazala bin Ubaid se suna wo kehte the : kuch log mujhe mere deen se phislana chahte hain. Yeh nahin hoga hatta ke mujhe mout aajaye. Mein Muhammad aur us ke sathiyon se miloon. Mal ghanimat mein se jo koi Room ke ilaqe mein khareedo farokht kare ga ghale aur taam ki us mein Allah ka khums bhi hai aur Musalmanon ka maal fai bhi hai.
Fadala bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some people want to turn me away from my religion, but by Allah! I hope to die upon it. Any item that is sold for gold or silver, one-fifth of it belongs to Allah and is the share of the Muslims.

(١٨٠٠١) فضالہ بن عبید (رض) فرماتے ہیں : کچھ لوگ مجھے میرے دین سے پھیرنا چاہتے ہیں اور اللہ کی قسم ! میں مرنے تک اسی پر رہنے کی امید کرتا ہوں۔ کوئی بھی چیز جس کو سونے یا چاندی کے بدلہ میں فروخت کیا جائے اس میں اللہ کا خمس اور مسلمانوں کا حصہ ہے۔
Fazalah bin Ubaid (RA) farmate hain : kuch log mujhe mere deen se phairna chahte hain aur Allah ki qasam ! main marne tak isi par rahne ki umeed karta hun. Koi bhi cheez jis ko sone ya chandi ke badle mein farokht kiya jaye us mein Allah ka khums aur musalmanon ka hissa hai.
Hani bin Kalsoom narrated: After conquering Sham, the leader of the army wrote to Umar (ra): We have conquered a land abundant in food and fodder for livestock. I don't want to take any step without your order, therefore, please write to us your commands. Umar (ra) wrote: Do not stop the people from eating or from acquiring fodder and whatever is sold in exchange for gold and silver, one-fifth will be Khums (the share of the Muslims).

(١٨٠٠٢) ہانی بن کلثوم فرماتے ہیں : شام کو فتح کرنے کے بعد لشکر کے امیر نے عمر (رض) کو لکھا : ہم نے طعام کی کثرت اور مویشیوں کے چارہ کی کثرت والے علاقہ کو فتح کیا ہے۔ میں آپ کے حکم کے بغیر کوئی قدم نہیں اٹھانا چاہتا، لہٰذا آپ ہمارے لیے احکامات لکھ دیں تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے لکھا : لوگوں کو کھانے سے اور چارہ حاصل کرنے سے نہ روکو اور جو چیز سونے چاندی کے عوض فروخت کی جائے اس میں خمس بھی ہوگا مسلمانوں کا حصہ بھی ہوگا۔
18002 Hani bin Kalsoom farmate hain : Sham ko fatah karne ke bad lashkar ke ameer ne Umar (RA) ko likha : hum ne tamam ki kasrat aur maweshio ke chara ki kasrat wale ilaqe ko fatah kya hai. mein aap ke hukm ke baghair koi kadam nahin uthana chahta, lihaza aap humare liye ahkamat likh dain to Hazrat Umar (RA) ne likha : logon ko khane se aur chara hasil karne se na roko aur jo cheez sone chandi ke awaz farokht ki jaye us mein khums bhi hoga muslimon ka hissa bhi hoga.
