Chapter: Reason for the revelation of Allah's saying: 'Do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned'

باب سبب نزول قول الله عز وجل: ولا تأكلوا مما لم يذكر اسم الله عليه

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 18896

Said bin Jubair (RA) narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) that the Jews disputed in front of the Prophet (PBUH) saying that we slaughter and eat by ourselves, and we do not eat anything that dies by itself. Allah revealed this verse: "And do not eat that upon which the Name of Allah has not been mentioned." (Al-An'am 121) That do not eat anything on which the name of Allah has not been taken.

(١٨٨٩٦) سعید بن جبیر (رض) حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ یہودیوں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے سامنے یہ جھگڑا پیش کیا کہ ہم خود ذبح کر کے کھاتے ہیں اور اللہ کی ماری ہوئی چیز ہم نہیں کھاتے، اللہ نے یہ آیت نازل کردی : { وَ لَا تَاْکُلُوْا مِمَّا لَمْ یُذْکَرِاسْمُ اللّٰہِ عَلَیْہِ } [الأنعام ١٢١] کہ جس پر اللہ کا نام نہ لیا جائے اسے نہ کھاؤ۔

Saeed bin Jubair (RA) Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke yahudiyon ne Nabi (SAW) ke samne yeh jhagda pesh kiya ke hum khud zabah kar ke khate hain aur Allah ki maari hui cheez hum nahi khate, Allah ne yeh ayat nazil kar di: {Wa la takulu mimma lam yuzkar ismullahi alaihi} [Al-An'am 121] ke jis par Allah ka naam na liya jaye usay na khao.

١٨٨٩٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ،عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ:خَاصَمَتِ الْيَهُودُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: تَأْكُلُ مِمَّا قَتَلْنَا وَلَا تَأْكُلُ مِمَّا قَتَلَ اللهُ؟.فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:{وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ ⦗٤٠٣⦘}[الأنعام: ١٢١]

Ikrimah narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding Allah's statement: {And indeed, the Shayatin inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you} [Al-An'am 121] - "that the devils inspire their friends to argue with you" - that they used to say: "Do not eat what Allah has slaughtered, but eat what you slaughter yourselves." So Allah revealed this verse: {And do not eat of that upon which the Name of Allah has not been mentioned}, meaning, do not eat what has not been slaughtered in the Name of Allah.

(١٨٨٩٧) عکرمہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے اللہ کے اس قول { وَ اِنَّ الشَّیٰطِیْنَ لَیُوْحُوْنَ اِلٰٓی اَوْلِیٰٓئِھِمْ لِیُجَادِلُوْکُمْ } [الأنعام ١٢١]” کہ شیطان اپنے دوستوں کو وحی کرتے ہیں کہ تم سے جھگڑا کریں “ کے متعلق فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ کہتے ہیں : جو اللہ ذبح کرے تم نہ کھاؤ اور جو تم خود ذبح کرو کھالو تو اللہ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی : { وَ لَا تَاْکُلُوْا مِمَّا لَمْ یُذْکَرِاسْمُ اللّٰہِ عَلَیْہِ } جس پر اللہ کا نام نہ لیا جائے اسے مت کھاؤ۔

(18897) Akrma Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Raz) se Allah ke is qaul { wa inna ash shayatina la yuhoona ila awliyaaihim liyujadilookum } [al-An'am 121] ” keh shaitan apne doston ko wahi karte hain keh tum se jhagra karen “ ke mutalliq farmate hain keh woh kehte hain : jo Allah zibah kare tum na khao aur jo tum khud zibah karo khao to Allah ne yeh ayat nazil farmaai : { wa la taakulu mimma lam yuzkar ismullahi alaihi } jis par Allah ka naam na liya jaye use mat khao.

١٨٨٩٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، ثنا سِمَاكٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ،عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:{وَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ لِيُجَادِلُوكُمْ}[الأنعام: ١٢١]،قَالُوا:يَقُولُونَ مَا ذَبَحَ اللهُ فَلَا تَأْكُلُوهُ، وَمَا ذَبَحْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ فَكُلُوهُ،فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:{وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ}[الأنعام: ١٢١]
