Chapter: A poet praising people for things they do not possess until it becomes evident falsehood
باب: الشاعر يمدح الناس بما ليس فيهم حتى يكون ذلك كثيرا ظاهرا كذبا محضا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 21134
'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was told about a man, and a man praised him highly. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You have cut the throat of your brother.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) kept on saying this. (He then said:) “If you must praise (someone), then say: ‘This is what I think of so and so,’ for he does not know what is hidden, and his reckoning rests with Allah. Do not praise anyone before Allah.”'

(٢١١٣٤) عبدالرحمن بن ابی بکرہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی کا تذکرہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس ہوا تو ایک آدمی نے اس کی اچھی تعریف کی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تو نے اپنے بھائی کی گردن کاٹ دی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بار بار فرما رہے تھے، اگر ضروری تعریف کرنی ہے تو یہ کہہ دے : فلاں کے بارے میں میرا یہ خیال ہے۔ اگر وہ ویسا ہی ہے جیسا اس نے گمان کیا ہے تو اس کا حساب اللہ کے ذمہ ہے، وہ کسی کا اللہ کے ہاں تزکیہ نہ کرے۔
21134 Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr apne walid se naql farmate hain ke ek aadmi ka tazkara Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas hua to ek aadmi ne uski acchi tareef ki. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tu ne apne bhai ki gardan kaat di. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) baar baar farma rahe the, agar zaroori tareef karni hai to yeh keh de: Falan ke bare mein mera yeh khayal hai. Agar wo waisa hi hai jaisa usne guman kiya hai to uska hisab Allah ke zimma hai, wo kisi ka Allah ke yahan tazkiya na kare.
Abu Bakr narrated from his father that a man praised someone in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You have cut the neck of your brother. If you must praise, then say: I think of him like this and Allah is his reckoner and I do not want to praise anyone in front of Allah. He knows best what he is like.

(٢١١٣٥) حضرت ابوبکرہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس کسی کی مدح کی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تو نے اپنے بھائی کی گردن کاٹ ڈالی۔ جب لازماً تعریف کرنا ہی ہو تو وہ کہے : میں اس کے بارے میں یہ گمان رکھتا ہوں اور اللہ اس کا محاسبہ کرنے والا ہے اور میں کسی کا تزکیہ اللہ کے سامنے نہیں کرنا چاہتا۔ وہ تو جانتا ہے کہ وہ اس طرح کا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Bakra apne walid se naql farmate hain ke ek aadmi ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas kisi ki madah ki. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tu ne apne bhai ki gardan kaat dali. Jab laziman tareef karna hi ho to woh kahe: Main iske bare mein yeh gumaan rakhta hun aur Allah iska muhasiba karne wala hai aur main kisi ka tazkiya Allah ke samne nahi karna chahta. Woh to janta hai ke woh is tarah ka hai.
Mujaahid narrates from Abu Mu'mar that a person stood up and started praising one of the wealthy. Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) started throwing dust on his face, saying, “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to throw dust on the faces of those who praise.”

(٢١١٣٧) مجاہد ابو معمر سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص کھڑا ہوا۔ اس نے امراء میں سے کسی کی تعریف شروع کردی تو مقداد (رض) اس کے چہرے پر مٹی پھینکنے لگے اور فرمانے لگے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم تعریف کرنے والوں کے چہروں پر مٹی ڈالیں۔
21137 Mujahid Abu Muamar se naqal farmate hain ki ek shakhs khara hua usne umara mein se kisi ki tareef shuru kardi to Miqdad (RA) uske chehre par mitti phenkne lage aur farmane lage ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hamen hukm diya hai ki hum tareef karne walon ke chehron par mitti dalen.
Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on speaking the truth until he is written with Allah as a truthful person. And falsehood leads to evil, and evil leads to the Hellfire. And a man keeps on telling lies until he is written with Allah as a liar."

(٢١١٣٨) حضرت عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : سچائی نیکی کی طرف راہنمائی کرتی ہے اور نیکی جنت میں لے جانے والی ہے اور آدمی ہمیشہ سچ بولتا رہتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ اللہ کے نزدیک سچوں میں لکھ دیا جاتا ہے اور جھوٹ برائی کی طرف راہنمائی کرتا ہے اور برائی جہنم میں لے جانے والی ہے اور آدمی ہمیشہ جھوٹ بولتا رہتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ اللہ کے ہاں جھوٹوں میں لکھ دیا جاتا ہے۔
(21138) Hazrat Abdullah (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Sachchai neki ki taraf rahnumai karti hai aur neki jannat mein le jane wali hai aur aadmi hamesha sach bolta rehta hai, yahan tak ki Allah ke nazdeek sachon mein likh diya jata hai aur jhoot burai ki taraf rahnumai karta hai aur burai jahannam mein le jane wali hai aur aadmi hamesha jhoot bolta rehta hai. Yahan tak ki Allah ke haan jhooton mein likh diya jata hai.
