Chapter: Burying Two or Three in One Grave in Necessity and Prioritizing the Superior and More Worthy
باب دفن الاثنين والثلاثة في قبر عند الضرورة وتقديم أفضلهم وأقرئهم
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 6925
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) buried the martyrs of Uhud in pairs, two or three in one sheet. He (the Prophet) would ask, "Who among them memorized more Quran?" When one of them was pointed out, he would put him first in the grave and say, "I will be a witness for them on the Day of Judgment." He ordered them to be buried with their blood, without washing their bodies or offering funeral prayers.

(٦٩٢٥) جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے احد کے مقتولین میں دو دو، تین تین کو ایک کپڑے میں دفن کیا، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فرماتے ان میں سے زیادہ قرآن یاد کرنے والا کون ہے ؟ جب ان میں سے ایک کی طرف اشارہ کیا جاتا تو آپ اسے لحد میں آگے کرتے اور فرماتے : میں ان پر قیامت کے دن گواہ ہوں گا اور ان کو خون سمیت دفن کرنے کا حکم دیا، نہ جنازہ پڑھا اور نہ ہی غسل دیا۔
6925 Jaber bin Abdullah (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne Uhud ke maqtoolin mein do do, teen teen ko aik kapre mein dafan kya, phir Aap (SAW) farmate in mein se zyada Quran yaad karne wala kaun hai? Jab in mein se aik ki taraf ishara kya jata to Aap usay lahad mein aage karte aur farmate: mein in par qayamat ke din gawah hounga aur in ko khoon samet dafan karne ka hukum diya, na janaza parha aur na hi ghusl diya.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the martyrs of Uhud, "Which of them memorized the most Quran?" When someone was pointed out, he would be placed in his grave before his companion. Jabir said, "My father and uncle were buried in the same sheet."

(٦٩٢٦) حضرت جابر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مقتولینِ احد کے بارے میں فرماتے : ان میں سے قرآن زیادہ یاد کرنے والا کون ہے ؟ جب کسی کی طرف اشارہ کیا جاتا تو اسے اس کے ساتھی سے پہلے لحد میں رکھتے۔ جابر فرماتے ہیں : میرے والد اور چچا کو ایک ہی چادر میں دفن کیا گیا۔
Hazrat Jaber (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah (SAW) maqtoolin-e-Uhud ke bare mein farmate hain: In mein se Quran zyada yaad karne wala kaun hai? Jab kisi ki taraf ishara kiya jata to use uske sathi se pehle lahad mein rakhte. Jaber farmate hain: Mere walid aur chacha ko ek hi chadar mein dafan kiya gaya.
Hisham ibn `Amir reported: On the day of Uhud, the people complained to the Prophet (ﷺ) about the number of casualties, saying it was difficult to dig a grave for each person. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Dig deep and bury two or three in one grave." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, whom should we lower into the grave first?" He (ﷺ) replied, "The one who knows the most Quran among them." So my father was buried, and he was the third of three in the grave.

(٦٩٢٧) ہشام بن عامر فرماتے ہیں کہ لوگوں نے احد کے دن آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس زخموں کی شکایت کی کہ ہر بندے کے لیے گڑھا کھودنا مشکل ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اچھی طرح گہرے کرو اور ایک قبر میں دو ‘ تین کو دفن کرو۔ انھوں نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم پہلے کسے لحد میں اتاریں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو ان میں سب سے زیادہ قرآن والا ہے سو میرے والد کو دفن کیا گیا اور وہ تین میں تیسرے تھے۔
6927 Hisham bin Aamir farmate hain keh logon ne Uhud ke din aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas zakhmon ki shikayat ki keh har bande ke liye garha khodna mushkil hai. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Achchi tarah gahre karo aur ek qabar mein do ‘ teen ko dafan karo. Unhon ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Hum pehle kise lahad mein utarin? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jo in mein sab se zyada Quran wala hai so mere walid ko dafan kiya gaya aur wo teen mein teesre the.
Hisham bin 'Amir narrated from his father that in the battle of Uhud, we received many wounds. When the people complained about their wounds, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Dig graves and make them spacious, and bury two or three in one grave, and put the one who knows more Quran in the front of the grave."

(٦٨٢٨) ہشام بن عامر اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ غزوہ احد میں ہمیں بہت زخم آئے تو لوگوں نے اپنے زخموں کی شکایت کی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : قبریں کھودو اور اچھی طرح فراخ کرو اور دو تین کو ایک قبر میں دفن کرو اور زیادہ قرآن والے کو قبر میں آگے کرو۔
Hisham bin Aamir apne walid se naqal farmate hain ki ghazwa uhud mein hamen bahut zakhm aye to logon ne apne zakhmon ki shikayat ki to aap ne farmaya: qabren khodo aur achi tarah farakh karo aur do teen ko ek qabar mein dafan karo aur zyada quran wale ko qabar mein aage karo.
Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Dig the graves deep and wide, and bury two or three in one grave, and put the one who memorized the most Quran among them forward." So my father was lowered into the grave before the other two.

(٦٩٢٩) ہشام بن عامر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : گڑھے گہرے کھودو اور فراخ کرو اور دو تین کو ایک قبر میں دفن کرو اور ان میں سے زیادہ قرآن والے کو آگے کرو ۔ سو میرے والد دوسرے دونوں سے پہلے لحد میں اتارا گیا۔
Hisham bin Aamir (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Garhe gehre khodo aur farakh karo aur do teen ko aik qabar mein dafan karo aur in mein se zyada Quran wale ko aage karo. So mere walid dusre donon se pehle lahad mein utara gaya.
