Chapter: What is Said When the Deceased is Placed in His Grave
باب ما يقال إذا أدخل الميت قبره
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 7058
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would place the deceased in the grave, he would say: "In the name of Allah and upon the Sunnah (way) of the Messenger of Allah."

(٧٠٥٨) حضرت ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب میت کو قبر میں رکھتے تو فرماتے : ” بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ وَعَلٰی سُنَّۃِ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰہِ “
(7058) Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) jab mayyat ko qabar mein rakhte to farmate : ”Bismillahi wa ala sunnati Rasoollillah“.
Waqi' narrated from Hammam, similarly, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you place the deceased in the grave, then say: 'In the name of Allah and according to the practice of the Messenger of Allah.'"

(٧٠٥٩) وکیع ہمام سے ایسے ہی روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جب تم مردوں کو قبر میں رکھو تو کہا کر : ” بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ وَعَلٰی سُنَّۃِ رَسُولِ اللّٰہِ “
(7059) Wakee Hammam se aise hi riwayat karte hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Jab tum mardon ko qabar mein rakho to kaha kar : ”Bismillahi wa ala sunnati Rasulillah“.
(7060) It is narrated on the authority of Shu'ba that he said: I went to Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He placed the deceased in the grave and said: "Bismillah wa'ala millati rasulillahi (In the name of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah)." Hisham narrates: When Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would place the deceased (in the grave), he would say: "Bismillah wa'ala millati rasulillahi (In the name of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah)."

(٧٠٦٠) شعبہ اپنی حدیث میں فرماتے ہیں : میں ابن عمر (رض) کے پاس گیا، انھوں نے میت کو قبر میں رکھا تو کہا ” بِسْمِ اللَّہِ وَعَلَی مِلَّۃِ رَسُولِ اللَّہِ “ ہشام فرماتے ہیں : ابن عمر جب میت کو رکھتے تو کہتے : ” بِسْمِ اللَّہِ وَعَلَی مِلَّۃِ رَسُولِ اللَّہِ “
7060 shuba apni hadees mein farmate hain : mein ibn umar (raz) ke paas gaya, unhon ne mayyat ko qabar mein rakha to kaha ” bismillah wa ala millati rasulullah “ hisham farmate hain : ibn umar jab mayyat ko rakhte to kahte : ” bismillah wa ala millati rasulullah “.
Sa'eed ibn Musayyab said: I attended a funeral with Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). When the deceased was placed in the grave, he (Ibn Umar) said: “Bismillah wa fi sabilillah wa 'ala millati rasulillahi (In the name of Allah and in the way of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah).” And when they began to place the bricks over the grave, he said: “Allahumma ajirha min ash-shaytani wa min 'adhabi’l-qabri wa min 'adhabi’n-nar (O Allah, protect him/her from Satan and from the punishment of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire).” And when they had leveled the dirt over it, he stood at one side of the grave and said: “Allahumma jaffi’l-arda 'an juththatiha wa sa''id bi ruhiha wa laqqiha minka ridwana (O Allah, keep the earth spacious for his/her body and raise his/her soul and grant him/her Your pleasure).” I said to Ibn Umar: Did you hear any such thing from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), or have you said it on your own? He said: Then I could have said whatever I wanted, but I heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

(٧٠٦١) سعید بن مسیب فرماتے ہیں کہ میں عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) کے ساتھ ایک جنازے میں حاضر ہوا ، جب اسے لحد میں رکھا گیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : ” بِسْمِ وَفِی سَبِیلِ اللَّہِ وَعَلَی مِلَّۃِ رَسُولِ اللَّہِ “ اور جب لحد پر اینٹیں نصب کرنا شروع کیں تو فرمایا : (اللَّہُمَّ أَجِرْہَا مِنَ الشَّیْطَانِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ ) اور جب اس پر مٹی برابر کی تو قبر کی ایک طرف کھڑے ہو کر فرمایا : (اللَّہُمَّ جَافِ الأَرْضَ عَنْ جُثَّتِہَا وَصَعِّدْ بِرُوحِہَا وَلَقِّہَا مِنْکَ رِضْوَانًا) اے اللہ ! زمین کو اس کے جسم سے دور کر اور اس کی روح کو بلند کر اور اس کو اپنی رضا عطا کر۔ میں نے ابن عمر (رض) سے کہا : کیا آپ نے ایسی کوئی بات رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے بھی سنی ہے یا نہیں یا اپنی رائے سے یہ کہا ہے ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا : تب تو میں جو چاتا کہہ سکتا تھا یہ بات میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے ہی سنی ہے۔
(7061) Saeed bin Musayyab farmate hain ke main Abdullah bin Umar (RA) ke sath ek janaze mein hazir hua, jab use lahad mein rakha gaya to unhon ne farmaya: “Bismillahi wafi sabilillahi waala millati Rasulillahi” aur jab lahad par enten nasab karna shuru kin to farmaya: (Allahumma ajirha minash shaitaani wamin azaabil qabri wamin azaabin naar) aur jab us par mitti barabar ki to qabar ki ek taraf khare ho kar farmaya: (Allahumma jafil arda an juththatiha wasa'id bi ruhiha walaqqiha minka rizwanan) aye Allah! Zameen ko uske jism se door kar aur uski rooh ko buland kar aur usko apni raza ata kar. Maine Ibn Umar (RA) se kaha: kya aap ne aisi koi baat Rasul Allah (SAW) se bhi suni hai ya nahi ya apni raay se ye kaha hai? Unhon ne farmaya: tab to main jo chahata keh sakta tha ye baat maine Rasul Allah (SAW) se hi suni hai.
(7062) Bayhaqi narrated it from the Prophet (ﷺ), as narrated by Wakee’ from Hammam, except that he said: (And by Allah, and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

(٧٠٦٢) بیاضی نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے وکیع کی روایت کی طرح نقل فرماتے ہیں جو اس نے ہمام سے نقل کی، سوائے اس کے کہ انھوں نے فرمایا : (وَبِاللَّہِ وَعَلَی مِلَّۃِ رَسُولِ اللَّہِ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) )
(7062) Biyaadi Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se Waqee ki riwayat ki tarah naql farmate hain jo usne Hammam se naql ki, siwae iske ke unhon ne farmaya : (Wallahi waala millati Rasoollillah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))).
Umayr ibn Sa'd al-Nakha'i reported: I went to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and he placed a deceased person in a grave and said: "O Allah, this is Your servant, the son of Your servant. He has come to You, and You are the best to receive him. We do not know of him except good, but You know him better. He used to bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, so forgive him his sins and grant him spaciousness in his grave.”

(٧٠٦٣) عمیر بن سعید نخعی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں علی بن ابی طالب (رض) کے پاس گیا ۔ انھوں نے ایک میت کو قبر میں داخل کیا اور فرمایا : ” اللَّہُمَّ عَبْدُکَ ابْنُ عَبْدُکَ نَزَلَ بِکَ وَأَنْتَ خَیْرُ مَنْزُولٍ بِہِ وَلاَ نَعْلَمُ إِلاَّ خَیْرًا وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِہِ کَانَ یَشْہَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلہ إِلاَّ اللَّہُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّہِ فَاغْفِرْ لَہُ ذَنْبَہُ وَوَسِّعْ لَہُ فِی مُدْخَلِہِ ۔ اے اللہ ! یہ تیرا بندہ تیرے بندے کا بیٹا تیرے پاس آیا ہے اور تو بہترین مہمان نواز ہے، ہم نہیں جانتے اس کے لیے مگر بھلائی اور تو بہتر جانتا ہے کہ وہ گواہی دیتا تھا کہ تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں صرف تو ہی ہے اور محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اللہ کے رسول ہیں اور تو اس کے گناہ بخش دے اور اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر دے۔
7063 Umeir bin Saeed Nukhi farmate hain ki main Ali bin Abi Talib (RA) ke paas gaya unhon ne ek mayyat ko qabar mein daakhil kya aur farmaya Allahumma abduka ibne abduka nazala bika wa anta khairu manzulin bihi wa laa naalamu illa khairan wa anta alamu bihi kaana yashhadu an laa ilaha illallahu wa anna Muhammadan Rasulullah faighfir lahu dhanbahoo wa wassi lahu fi mudkhalihae Ae Allah yeh tera banda tere bande ka beta tere paas aaya hai aur tu behtarin mehmaan nawaaz hai hum nahin jaante iske liye magar bhalayi aur tu behtar jaanta hai ki woh gawahi deta tha ki tere siwa koi mabood nahin sirf tu hi hai aur Muhammad (SAW) Allah ke Rasool hain aur tu iske gunaah bakhsh de aur is ki qabar ko kushada kar de
