Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 12414
Tariq bin Shahab narrates that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) held the handle (of the door) and gathered the companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to write about the grandfather (in inheritance laws) and he was observing that they were placing him (grandfather) in the position of the father. A group from them left and they differed, so he ( Umar) said: If Allah had willed, I would have left it (unspecified).

(١٢٤١٤) طارق بن شہاب فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے دستہ پکڑا اور اصحاب محمد (رض) کو جمع کیا تاکہ دادا کے بارے میں لکھ دیں اور وہ دیکھ رہے تھے کہ انھوں نے اسے باپ کی جگہ پہ رکھ دیا۔ ایک قبیلہ وہاں سے نکلا وہ علیحدہ علیحدہ ہوئے تو فرمایا : اگر اللہ ارادہ کرتے تو میں اسے چھوڑ دیتا۔
Taariq bin Shahab farmate hain ki Hazrat Umar (RA) ne dasta pakra aur ashaab Muhammad (RA) ko jama kiya taake dada ke bare mein likh dein aur woh dekh rahe the ki unhon ne use baap ki jaga pe rakh diya. Ek qabeela wahan se nikla woh alag alag hue to farmaya: Agar Allah irada karte to main use chhor deta.
١٢٤١٤ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ،عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ:أَخَذَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ كَتِفًا وَجَمَعَ أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَكْتُبَ الْجَدَّ، وَهُمْ يَرَوْنَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهُ أَبًا، فَخَرَجَتْ عَلَيْهِ حَيَّةٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا،فَقَالَ:" لَوْ أَنَّ اللهَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُمْضِيَهُ لَأَمْضَاهُ "
