Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 12435
Ubaidullah Sulaiman narrates that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give one-third of the inheritance to the grandfather along with the brothers, while Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give one-sixth. When Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came here, he started giving one-sixth. Ubaidullah said: "Out of the opinions of these two, the opinion of one of them is more preferable to me than the opinion of the entire community."

(١٢٤٣٥) عبیدہ سلیمانی فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) دادے کو بھائیوں کے ساتھ ثلث دیتے تھے اور عمر (رض) سدس دیتے تھے۔ جب علی (رض) یہاں آئے تو سدس دیتے تھے، عبیدہ نے کہا : ان دونوں کی رائے تمام جماعت میں میرے نزدیک کسی ایک کی رائے کی یہ نسبت زیادہ پسندیدہ ہے۔

١٢٤٣٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، أنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ قَالَ:كَانَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يُعْطِي الْجَدَّ مَعَ الْإِخْوَةِ الثُّلُثَ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يُعْطِيهِ السُّدُسَ،وَكَتَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا:" إِنَّا نَخَافُ أَنْ نَكُونَ قَدْ أَجْحَفْنَا بِالْجَدِّ فَأَعْطِهِ ⦗٤٠٨⦘ الثُّلُثَ "، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ هَا هُنَا أَعْطَاهُ السُّدُسَ.فَقَالَ عَبِيدَةُ:فَرَأْيُهُمَا فِي الْجَمَاعَةِ أَحَبُّ إِلِيَّ مِنْ رَأْيِ أَحَدِهِمَا فِي الْفُرْقَةِ
