Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1295
Muqatil bin Hayyan said: I went to Shahr bin Hawshab. He performed ablution and wiped over his socks. I said to him: Do you wipe over your socks? He said: Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me. He performed ablution and wiped over his socks. I said to him: Do you wipe over your socks? He said: Yes, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiping over his socks. I said: After the revelation of Surah Al-Ma'idah? He said: I embraced Islam after the revelation of Surah Al-Ma'idah. Abu Ya'la said: Ibrahim bin Adham said: I have not heard any better Hadith than this one regarding wiping over the socks.

(١٢٩٥) مقاتل بن حیان کہتے ہیں کہ میں شہر بن حوشب کے پاس آیا، انھوں نے وضو کیا اور موزوں پر مسح کیا۔ میں نے ان سے کہا : آپ موزوں پر مسح کرتے ہو ؟ انھوں نے کہا : میرے پاس جریر بن عبداللہ (رض) آئے۔ انھوں نے وضو کیا اور موزوں پر مسح کیا۔ میں نے ان سے کہا : آپ موزوں پر مسح کرتے ہو ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ہاں میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو موزوں پر مسح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ میں نے کہا : سورة مائدہ کے نازل ہونے کے بعد ؟ انھوں نے کہا : میں سورة مائدہ کے نازل ہونے کے بعد مسلمان ہوا ہوں۔ ابو یعمد کہتے ہیں کہ ابراہیم بن ادھم کہتے ہیں : موزوں پر مسح کرنے کے متعلق اس حدیث سے اچھی میں نے کوئی نہیں سنی۔
(1295) Muqatil bin Hayan kehte hain ki main Shahr bin Hawshab ke paas aaya, unhon ne wuzu kiya aur mozon par masah kiya. Maine un se kaha : Aap mozon par masah karte ho ? Unhon ne kaha : Mere paas Jarir bin Abdullah (RA) aaye. Unhon ne wuzu kiya aur mozon par masah kiya. Maine un se kaha : Aap mozon par masah karte ho ? Unhon ne kaha : Haan maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko mozon par masah karte huye dekha hai. Maine kaha : Surah Maida ke nazil hone ke baad ? Unhon ne kaha : Main Surah Maida ke nazil hone ke baad musalman hua hun. Abu Ya'qub kehte hain ki Ibrahim bin Adham kehte hain : Mozon par masah karne ke mutalliq is hadees se achchhi maine koi nahi suni.
١٢٩٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَدْهَمَ، ثنا مُقَاتِلُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ،قَالَ:نَزَلْتُ بِشَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: تَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْكَ؟قَالَ:نَزَلَ بِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: تَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْكَ؟قَالَ:" نَعَمْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ "قَالَ: قُلْتُ: بَعْدَ نُزُولِ الْمَائِدَةِ؟قَالَ:مَا أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَّا بَعْدَ نُزُولِ الْمَائِدَةِ " ⦗٤١٢⦘ قَالَ أَبُو يُحْمِدَ: قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَدْهَمَ: مَا سَمِعْتُ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ بِحَدِيثٍ أَحْسَنَ مِنْ هَذَا
