Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 16713
Abu Bakhtari says that Ali (RA) was asked if the people of Jamal were polytheists? He said: They were far from polytheism. It was asked: Were they hypocrites? He said: The hypocrites seldom remember Allah. It was asked: Then who were they? He said: Our Muslim brothers who rebelled against us.

(١٦٧١٣) ابو البختری کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) سے سوال ہوا کہ کیا اہلجمل مشرک تھے ؟ فرمایا : وہ شرک سے دور تھے۔ پوچھا : منافق تھے ؟ فرمایا : منافق اللہ کا ذکر تھوڑا کرتے ہیں۔ پوچھا گیا : پھر وہ کون تھے ؟ فرمایا : ہمارے مسلمان بھائی جنہوں نے ہم پر بغاوت کی۔
(16713) Abu al Bakhtari kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) se sawal hua ke kya ahle jamal mushrik thay? Farmaya: Woh shirk se door thay. Poocha: Munafiq thay? Farmaya: Munafiq Allah ka zikr thora karte hain. Poocha gaya: Phir woh kaun thay? Farmaya: Humare musalman bhai jinhone hum par baghawat ki.
١٦٧١٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الْفَقِيهُ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَنْبَسِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ،قَالَ:سُئِلَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَهْلِ الْجَمَلِ: أَمُشْرِكُونَ هُمْ؟قَالَ:مِنَ الشِّرْكِ فَرُّوا،قِيلَ:أَمُنَافِقُونَ هُمْ؟قَالَ:إِنَّ" الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا،قِيلَ:فَمَا هُمْ؟قَالَ:إِخْوَانُنَا بَغَوْا عَلَيْنَا "
