Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 16722
Shaqiq bin Salama said that a man said: Who is it that delivered the two heavy blows on the day when the polytheists, that is, the people of al-Nahr, were killed? So 'Ali said: They were far from polytheism. He said: Then were they hypocrites? He said: The hypocrites seldom mention Allah. So he said: Who were they? He said: A rebellious people over whom we were given victory.

(١٦٧٢٢) شقیق بن سلمہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نے کہا : کون ہے جو دو غلوں کو پہنچانتا ہے، اس دن جب مشرک یعنی اہل النہر قتل کیے گئے ؟ تو حضرت علی نے فرمایا : وہ شرک سے دور تھے۔ کہا : پھر وہ منافق تھے ؟ کہا : منافق اللہ کا ذکر بہت کم کرتے ہیں تو کہا : وہ کون تھے ؟ فرمایا : ایک باغی قوم جس پر ہمیں فتح ملی۔
Shaqeeq bin Salma kehte hain ki ek aadmi ne kaha : kaun hai jo do ghaloon ko pahunchata hai, us din jab mushrik yani ahl un nahar qatl kiye gaye ? To Hazrat Ali ne farmaya : woh shirk se door thay. Kaha : phir woh munafiq thay ? Kaha : munafiq Allah ka zikar bahut kam karte hain to kaha : woh kaun thay ? Farmaya : ek baghi qaum jis par humain fatah mili.
١٦٧٢٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ السَّدِيرِيُّ، بخُسْرَوْجِرْدَ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْخُسْرَوْجِرْدِيُّ، ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ، ثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زَنْجُوَيْهِ، ثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ،قَالَ:قَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَنْ يَتَعَرَّفُ الْبُغَاةَ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ؟ يَعْنِي أَهْلَ النَّهْرَوَانِ،فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ:" مِنَ الشِّرْكِ فَرُّوا،قَالَ:فَالْمُنَافِقُونَ؟قَالَ:الْمُنَافِقُونَ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا،قَالَ:فَمَا هُمْ؟قَالَ:قَوْمٌ بَغَوْا عَلَيْنَا فَنُصِرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ
