Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 20895
Rabi' says: I heard from Imam Shafi'i, may God have mercy on him, that he used to say: "The servant will meet Allah with every sin except for shirk (polytheism). It is better not to be like the people of the wind." A people like them argued with you about predestination. Imam Shafi'i, may God have mercy on him, said: "The decree is for Allah, except for His creation." What is meant by the decree of Allah is the will of Allah. Allah's command is: {And you do not will except that Allah wills.} [Al-Insan 76:30] The decree is also from Allah, and Allah is the One who establishes destiny.

(٢٠٨٩٥) ربیع فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے امام شافعی (رح) سے سنا، وہ کہتے تھے کہ بندہ اللہ سے ملاقات کرے گا ہر گناہ لے کر سوائے شرک کے ۔ بہتر ہے کہ اہل ہواء میں سے نہ ہو۔ اس طرح کی قوم آپ کے سامنے تقدیر کے بارے میں جھگڑا کیا۔ امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : مشیت اللہ کی ہے اس کی مخلوق کے علاوہ۔ اللہ کی مشیت سے مراد اللہ کا ارادہ ہے۔ اللہ کا فرمان ہے : { وَمَا تَشَآئُ وْنَ اِلَّآ اَنْ یَّشَآئَ اللّٰہُ } [الانسان ٣٠] ” جو تم نہیں چاہتے، مگر وہ ہوتا ہے جو اللہ چاہتا ہے۔ “ مشیت بھی اللہ کی ہے اور اللہ ہی تقدیر کو ثابت کرتا ہے۔
(20895) Rabī Farmātē hain ki main nē Imām Shāfī (ra) sē suna, woh kahtē thē ki banda Allāh sē mulāqāt karē ga har gunāh lē kar siwā shirk kē. Behtar hai ki ahl-e-hawā main sē na ho. Is tarah kī qaum āp kē sāmanē taqdīr kē bārē main jhagrā kiyā. Imām Shāfī (ra) Farmātē hain: Mashīat Allāh kī hai us kī makhlooq kē alāwa. Allāh kī mashīat sē murād Allāh kā irāda hai. Allāh kā farmān hai: { Wa mā tashā'uwnā illā an yashā'a Allāh } [al-Insān 30] “ Jo tum nahīn chāhtē, magar woh hotā hai jo Allāh chāhtā hai. “ Mashīat bhī Allāh kī hai aur Allāh hī taqdīr ko sābit kartā hai.
٢٠٨٩٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، أنبأ أَبُو يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، أَوْ فِيمَا أَجَازَ لِي مُشَافَهَةً،ثنا الرَّبِيعُ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ يَقُولُ:" لَأَنْ يَلْقَى اللهَ الْعَبْدُ بِكُلِّ ذَنْبٍ مَا خَلَا الشِّرْكَ بِاللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَلْقَاهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَهْوَاءِ "، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى قَوْمًا يَتَجَادَلُونَ فِي الْقَدَرِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ،فَقَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ:" فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ الْمَشِيئَةُ لَهُ دُونَ خَلْقِهِ، وَالْمَشِيئَةُ إِرَادَةُ اللهِ،يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:{وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللهُ}فَأَعْلَمَ خَلْقَهُ أَنَّ الْمَشِيئَةَ لَهُ، وَكَانَ يُثْبِتُ الْقَدَرَ "
