ل. Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that once Allah's Apostle ( صلى ہللا عليهو آله وسلم) delayed the `Isha' prayer till Umar (رضي الله تعالی عنہ) informed him that the women and children had slept. The Prophet ( صلىہللا عليه و آله وسلم) came out and said, "None except you from amongst the dwellers of earth is waiting for this prayer." In those days, there was no prayer except in Medina and they used to pray the `Isha' prayer between the disappearance of the twilight and the first third of the night.
حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے نماز عشاء میں تاخیر کر دی یہاں تک کہ حضرت عمر ؓ نے بآواز بلند آپ کو پکارا کہ عورتیں اور بچے سو گئے ہیں۔ اس کے بعد نبى ﷺ باہر تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: ’’اہل زمین میں سے تمہارے علاوہ کوئی بھی اس نماز کا منتظر نہیں ہے۔‘‘ ان دنوں مدینہ کے علاوہ کہیں نماز نہیں پڑھی جاتی تھی۔ اور لوگ سرخی غائب ہونے کے بعد رات کی پہلی تہائی تک عشاء کی نماز پڑھ لیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya ke ek martaba Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz-e-isha mein takheer kar di yahan tak ke Hazrat Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) ne ba-awaz-e-buland aap ko pukara ke aurtein aur bacche so gaye hain. Is ke baad Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) bahar tashreef laye aur farmaya: ''Ahl-e-zameen mein se tumhare alawa koi bhi is namaz ka muntazir nahi hai.'' In dinon Madina ke alawa kahin namaz nahi parhi jati thi. Aur log surkhi ghayab hone ke baad raat ki pehli tihayi tak isha ki namaz parh lete thay.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْعَتَمَةِ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ ، وَلَا يُصَلَّى يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، وَكَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ الْعَتَمَةَ فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلِ .
