Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that on the day of Al-Khandaq (the battle of trench), `Umar bin Al-Khattab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) went to the Prophet ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) and said, "O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! By Allah, I could not pray (the Asr) till the sun had set." `Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) told this to the Prophet ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم) at the time when a fasting person had done Iftar (taken his meals). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then went to Buthan and I was with him. He performed ablution and offered the Asr prayer after the sun had set and then the Maghrib prayer.
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ غزوہ خندق کے موقع پر حضرت عمر بن خطاب نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کرنے لگے: اللہ کے رسول! اللہ کی قسم! میں نماز نہیں پڑھ سکا یہاں تک کہ سورج غروب ہونے کے قریب ہو گیا۔ یہ گفتگو روزے دار کے روزہ افطار کرنے کے بعد ہوئی۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’اللہ کی قسم! میں بھی نماز نہیں پڑھ سکا۔‘‘ چنانچہ آپ نیچے اترے اور وادی بطحان میں چلے، میں بھی آپ کے ہمراہ تھا۔ آپ نے وضو کیا اور آفتاب غروب ہونے کے بعد پہلے نماز عصر پڑھی، اس کے بعد مغرب کی نماز ادا کی
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Ghazwa-e-Khandaq ke mauqay par Hazrat Umar bin Khattab Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur arz karne lage: Allah ke Rasul! Allah ki qasam! mein namaz nahi parh saka yahan tak ke sooraj ghuroob hone ke qareeb ho gaya. Yeh guftagu roze-dar ke roza iftar karne ke baad hui. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Allah ki qasam! mein bhi namaz nahi parh saka.'' Chunancha aap neeche utre aur Wadi-e-Buthan mein chale, mein bhi aap ke hamrah tha. Aap ne wuzu kiya aur aftab ghuroob hone ke baad pehle namaz-e-asar parhi, is ke baad maghrib ki namaz ada ki.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا كِدْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ حَتَّى كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ تَغْرُبُ وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَ مَا أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَاللَّهِ مَا صَلَّيْتُهَا ، فَنَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى بُطْحَانَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ بَعْدَ مَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بَعْدَهَا الْمَغْرِبَ .
