Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he took Abdullah bin Abu Talha ( رضي الله تعالیعنہ) to Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to perform Tahnik for him. (Tahnik was a custom among the Muslims that whenever a child was born, they used to take it to the Prophet ( صلى ہللاعليه و آله وسلم) who would chew a piece of date and put a part of its juice in the child's mouth). I saw the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and he had an instrument for branding in his hands and was branding the camels of Zakat.
حضرت انس بن مالک ؓ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہ میں ایک صبح حضرت ابو طلحہ ؓ کے بیٹے عبداللہ ؓ کو لے کر رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تاکہ آپ کچھ چبا کر اس کے منہ میں ڈال دیں تو میں نے آپ کو اس حالت میں پایا کہ آپ کےہاتھ میں داغ دینے والا ایک آلہ تھا، آپ اس سے زکاۃ کے اونٹوں کو داغ رہے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : غَدَوْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ لِيُحَنِّكَهُ ، فَوَافَيْتُهُ فِي يَدِهِ الْمِيسَمُ يَسِمُ إِبِلَ الصَّدَقَةِ .
