Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported, Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, there is a tree among the trees, which does not shed its leaves, and it may be likened to the Muslim. So tell me which is it? Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. Abdullah said 'it occurred to me that it was the date-palm tree, but I felt shy. 'Then the people asked 'which is that tree O' Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)? He (the Prophet ﷺ) replied, it is the date-palm tree.
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’درختوں میں ایک درخت ایسا ہے جس کے پتے نہیں جھڑتے اور وہ مسلمان کے مشابہ ہے۔ مجھے بتلاؤ وہ کون سا درخت ہے؟‘‘ اس پر لوگوں نے صحرائی درختوں کا خیال کیا۔ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں: میرے دل میں آیا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے (لیکن بزرگوں کی موجودگی میں بتانے سے مجھے شرم آئی۔) آخر صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ ہی بتا دیجیے وہ کون سا درخت ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا:’’وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔‘‘
Hazrat Ibn Umar (Raziallahu Anhuma) se riwayat hai, unhone kaha ke Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Darakhton mein ek darakht aisa hai jiske patte nahin jhadte aur woh Musalman ke mushabeh hai. Mujhe batlao woh kon sa darakht hai?" Is par logon ne sahrai darakhton ka khayal kiya. Abdullah bin Umar (Raziallahu Anhuma) kehte hain: Mere dil mein aaya ke woh khajoor ka darakht hai (lekin buzurgon ki maujoodgi mein batane se mujhe sharm aayi). Akhir Sahaba Karam (Raziallahu Anhum) ne kaha: Allah ke Rasool (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Aap hi bata dijiye woh kon sa darakht hai? Aap ne farmaya: "Woh khajoor ka darakht hai."
حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً لَا يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا وَإِنَّهَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِ ، حَدِّثُونِي مَا هِيَ ؟ قَالَ : فَوَقَعَ النَّاسُ فِي شَجَرِ الْبَوَادِي ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : فَوَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ ، ثُمَّ قَالُوا : حَدِّثْنَا مَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ .
