Chapter: "And the Command of Allah is a decree determined"

باب ‏{‏وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قَدَرًا مَقْدُورًا‏}‏

Sahih al-Bukhari 6601

Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘no woman should ask for the divorce of her sister (Muslim) so as to take her place, but she should marry the man (without compelling him to divorce his other wife), for she will have nothing but what Allah has written for her.’

حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کوئی عورت اپنی کسی بہن کی طلاق کا مطالبہ نہ کرے تاکہ اس کے پیالے کو بالکل خالی کر دے بلکہ چاہیئے وہ نکاح کرلے کیونکہ اس کے لیے وہی کچھ ہے جو اس کا مقدر ہے۔“

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: 'Koi aurat apni kisi behen ki talaq ka mutaliba na kare taake us ke pyale ko bilkul khali kar de balkeh chahiye woh nikah kar le kyonke us ke liye wohi kuch hai jo us ka muqaddar hai.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا تَسْأَلِ الْمَرْأَةُ طَلَاقَ أُخْتِهَا لِتَسْتَفْرِغَ صَحْفَتَهَا وَلْتَنْكِحْ ، فَإِنَّ لَهَا مَا قُدِّرَ لَهَا .

Sahih al-Bukhari 6602

Usama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that once while he was with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and Sa`d, Ubai bin Ka`b and Mu`adh (رضي الله تعالى عنهم) were also sitting with him, there came to him a Apostle from one of his daughters, telling him that her child was on the verge of death. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) told the Apostle to tell her, ‘it is for Allah what He takes, and it is for Allah what He gives, and everything has its fixed time (limit). So (she should) be patient and look for Allah's reward.’

حضرت اسامہ ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں موجود تھا کہ اچانک آپ کے پاس آپ کی کسی صاحبزادی کا قاصد آیا۔ اس وقت آپ کے پاس حضرت سعد، ابی بن کعب اور حضرت معاذ ؓم بھی تھے۔ قاصد نے کہا: کہ ان کا بچہ نزع کی حالت میں ہے۔ آپ ﷺ نے انہیں پیغام بھیجا: ”اللہ ہی کا ہے جو وہ لے لیتا ہے اور اسی کا ہے جو وہ دے دے۔ ہر چیز کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے اس لیے وہ صبر کریں اور اللہ سے اجر کی امید رکھیں۔“

Hazrat Usama (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Main Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein maujood tha ke achanak Aap ke paas Aap ki kisi sahab-zadi ka qasid aya. Is waqt Aap ke paas Hazrat Sa'd, Ubayy bin Ka'b aur Hazrat Mu'az (Razi Allahu Anhum) bhi the. Qasid ne kaha ke un ka bacha naza ki halat mein hai. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne unhein paigham bheja: 'Allah hi ka hai jo woh le leta hai aur Usi ka hai jo woh de deta hai. Har cheez ka ek waqt muqarrar hai is liye woh sabr karein aur Allah se ajr ki umeed rakhein.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَسُولُ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِهِ ، وَعِنْدَهُ سَعْدٌ ، وأُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ ، ومُعَاذٌ : أَنَّ ابْنَهَا يَجُودُ بِنَفْسِهِ ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا : لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلِلَّهِ مَا أَعْطَى كُلٌّ بِأَجَلٍ ، فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 6603

Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that while he was sitting with the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) a man from the Ansar came and said, ‘O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), we get slave girls from the war captives and we love property; what do you think about coitus interruptus?’ Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘do you do that? It is better for you not to do it, for there is no soul which Allah has ordained to come into existence but will be created.’

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: That while he was sitting with the Prophet a man from the Ansar came and said, O Allah's Apostle! We get slave girls from the war captives and we love property; what do you think about coitus interruptus? Allah's Apostle said, Do you do that? It is better for you not to do it, for there is no soul which Allah has ordained to come into existence but will be created.

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke jab woh Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saath baithe the toh Ansar mein se ek aadmi aya aur kaha, 'Ae Allah ke Rasool! Humein jung ke qaidiyon se laundiyan milti hain aur humein maal pasand hai; Aap 'Azal' (coitus interruptus) ke bare mein kya khayal karte hain?' Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya, 'Kya tum aisa karte ho? Tumhare liye behtar hai ke aisa na karo, kyonke koi aisi rooh nahi jis ka Allah ne wujood mein aana muqaddar farmaya ho magar woh zaroor paida hogi.'

حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ الجُمَحِيُّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، أَخْبَرَهُ : أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا وَنُحِبُّ الْمَالَ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَوَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ ، لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 6604

Hudhaifa (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) once delivered a speech in front of us wherein he left nothing but mentioned (about) everything that would happen till the Hour. Some of us stored that our minds and some forgot it. (After that speech) I used to see events taking place (which had been referred to in that speech) but I had forgotten them (before their occurrence). Then I would recognize such events as a man recognizes another man who has been absent and then sees and recognizes him.

حضرت حذیفہ ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں ایک خطبہ دیا اور قیامت تک کوئی چیز نہ چھوڑی جس کو بیان نہ کیا ہو، جسے یاد رکھنا تھا اس نے یاد رکھا اور جسے بھولنا تھا وہ بھول گیا لہذا جب میں کوئی فراموش کردہ چیز دیکھتا ہوں تو اس طرح اسے پہنچان لیتا ہوں جس طرح وہ شخص کی کوئی چیز گم ہوگئی ہو جب وہ اسے دیکھتا ہے تو فوراً پہچان لیتا ہے۔

Hazrat Huzaifah (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne humein ek khutba diya aur qayamat tak koi cheez na chhodi jis ko bayan na kiya ho, jise yaad rakhna tha us ne yaad rakha aur jise bhoolna tha woh bhool gaya lehaza jab main koi faramosh-karda cheez dekhta hoon toh is tarah ise pehchan leta hoon jis tarah woh shakhs ki koi cheez gum ho gayi ho jab woh ise dekhta hai toh fauran pehchan leta hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : لَقَدْ خَطَبَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُطْبَةً مَا تَرَكَ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ ، إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُ عَلِمَهُ مَنْ عَلِمَهُ ، وَجَهِلَهُ مَنْ جَهِلَهُ ، إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَرَى الشَّيْءَ قَدْ نَسِيتُ فَأَعْرِفُ مَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ فَرَآهُ فَعَرَفَهُ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 6605

Narrated `Ali: While we were sitting with the Prophet who had a stick with which he was scraping the earth, he lowered his head and said, There is none of you but has his place assigned either in the Fire or in Paradise. Thereupon a man from the people said, Shall we not depend upon this, O Allah's Apostle? The Prophet said, No, but carry on and do your deeds, for everybody finds it easy to do such deeds (as will lead him to his place). The Prophet then recited the Verse: 'As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah..' (92.5)

حضرت علی ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہمراہ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے اور آپ کے ہاتھ میں ایک لکڑی تھی جس سے آپ زمین کرید رہے تھے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”تم میں سے ہر ایک کا جنت وجہنم میں ٹھکانا لکھا جا چکا ہے۔“ حاضرین میں سے ایک آدمی نےکہا: اللہ کے رسول! پھر ہم کیوں نہ اس پر بھروسا کر لیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں،تم عمل کرو (جس کے لیے انسان پیدا کیا گیا ہے) اس کے لیے وہ چیز آسان کر دی گئی ہے۔“ پھر آپ نے یہ آیت تلاوت فرمائی: ”جس نے اللہ کی راہ میں دیا اور تقویٰ اختیار کیا۔ آخر تک۔“

Hazrat Ali (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Hum Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hamrah baithe hue the aur Aap ke hath mein ek lakdi thi jis se Aap zameen kureid rahe the. Aap ne farmaya: 'Tum mein se har ek ka jannat wa jahannam mein thikana likha ja chuka hai.' Hazireen mein se ek aadmi ne kaha: Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! phir hum kyon na is par bharosa kar lein. Aap ne farmaya: 'Nahi, tum amal karo (jis ke liye insan paida kiya gaya hai) us ke liye woh cheez asan kar di gayi hai.' Phir Aap ne yeh ayat tilawat farmai: 'Jis ne Allah ki raah mein diya aur taqwa ikhtiyar kiya...' aakhir tak.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ عُودٌ يَنْكُتُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَقَالَ : مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا قَدْ كُتِبَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ أَوْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : أَلَا نَتَّكِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : لَا اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى سورة الليل آية 5 الْآيَةَ .
