Sahih al-Bukhari 2690
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: There was a dispute amongst the people of the tribe of Bani `Amr bin `Auf. The Prophet went to them along with some of his companions in order to make peace between them. The time for the prayer became due but the Prophet did not turn up; Bilal pronounced the Adhan (i.e. call) for the prayer but the Prophet did not turn up, so Bilal went to Abu Bakr and said, The time for the prayer is due and the Prophet i detained, would you lead the people in the prayer? Abu Bakr replied, Yes, you wish. So, Bilal pronounced the Iqama of the prayer and Abu Bakr went ahead (to lead the prayer), but the Prophet came walking among the rows till he joined the first row. The people started clapping and they clapped too much, and Abu Bakr used not to look hither and thither in the prayer, but he turned round and saw the Prophet standing behind him. The Prophet beckoned him with his hand to keep on praying where he was. Abu Bakr raised his hand and praised Allah and then retreated till he came in the (first) row, and the Prophet went ahead and lead the people in the prayer. When the Prophet finished the prayer, he turned towards the people and said, O people! When something happens to you during the prayer, you start clapping. Really clapping is (permissible) for women only. If something happens to one of you in his prayer, he should say: 'Subhan Allah', (Glorified be Allah), for whoever hears him (saying so) will direct his attention towards him. O Abu Bakr! What prevented you from leading the people in the prayer when I beckoned to you (to continue)? Abu Bakr replied, It did not befit the son of Abu Quhafa to lead the prayer in front of the Prophet.
حضرت سہل بن سعد ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ بنی عمرو بن عوف کے لوگوں میں کچھ جھگڑا ہوا تو نبی کریم ﷺ اپنے چند صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ عنھم أجمعین کو ساتھ لے کر ان کے پاس گئے تاکہ ان میں صلح کرادیں۔ ادھر نماز کا وقت ہوگیا اور نبی کریم ﷺ واپس تشریف نہ لاسکے۔ حضرت بلال ؓ نے نماز کے لیے اذان کہی تب بھی نبی کریم ﷺ نہ پہنچ سکے تو حضرت بلال حضرت ابوبکر ؓ کے پاس گئے اور ان سے عرض کیا: نبی کریم ﷺ کسی وجہ سے وہاں رُک گئے ہیں، نماز کا وقت ہوگیا ہے تو کیا آپ لوگوں کی امامت کرائیں گے؟ انھوں نے فرمایا: ہاں، اگر تم چاہوتو (میں اسے بجالانے کوتیار ہوں)، چنانچہ حضرت بلال ؓ نے تکبیر کہی تو حضرت ابوبکر ؓ آگے بڑھے (اورنماز پڑھانے لگے۔ ) اتنے میں نبی کریم ﷺ صفوں کے درمیان سے گزرتے ہوئے پہلی صف میں آ پہنچے۔ آپ کو دیکھ کر لوگ بار بار ہاتھ پر ہاتھ مارنے (تالیاں بجانے) لگے لیکن حضرت ابو بکر ؓ دوران نماز میں کسی طرف متوجہ نہیں ہوتے تھے۔ (تالیوں کی کثرت کی وجہ سے) انھوں نے ادھر دیکھا تومعلوم ہوا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ان کے پیچھے تشریف فرما ہیں۔ آپ ﷺ نے اپنے دست انورسے اشارہ کرتے ہوئے انھیں حکم دیا کہ وہ بدستور نماز پڑھاتے ہیں، لیکن ابو بکر ؓ نے اپنا ہاتھ اٹھایا، اللہ کی حمد وثنا کی، پھر الٹے پاؤں پیچھے آگئے اور صف میں کھڑے ہو گئے۔ نبی کریم ﷺ آگے بڑھے اور لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی۔ جب فارغ ہوئے تو لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوکر فرمایا: ’’لوگو! جب نماز میں تمھیں کوئی مسئلہ پیش آتاہے تو تالی بجانا کیوں شروع کردیتے ہو؟ تالی بجانا تو عورتوں کے لیے ہے۔ آئندہ تم میں سے کسی کو دوران نماز میں کوئی چیز پیش آئے تو وہ سبحان اللہ کہے کیونکہ جو بھی اسے سنے گا وہ دھر متوجہ ہوگا۔ اے ابوبکر!جب میں نے تمھیں اشارہ کیا تھا تو پھر کس چیز نے تمھیں نماز پڑھانے سے روک دیا؟‘‘ حضرت ابو بکر ؓ نے عرض کیا: ابوقحافہ کے بیٹے کو زیب نہیں دیتاکہ وہ نبی کریم ﷺ کی موجودگی میں نماز پڑھائے۔
Hazrat Sahl bin Saad (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Bani Amr bin Auf ke logon mein kuch jhagda hua to Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) apne chand Sahaba-e-Kiram (Ridwanullahi Alaihim Ajma'een) ko saath le kar un ke paas gaye taake un mein sulah karadein. Idhar namaz ka waqt ho gaya aur Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) wapas tashreef na la sake. Hazrat Bilal (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne namaz ke liye azan kahi tab bhi Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) na pahunch sake to Hazrat Bilal Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) ke paas gaye aur un se arz kiya: Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) kisi wajah se wahan ruk gaye hain, namaz ka waqt ho gaya hai to kya Aap logon ki imamat karayenge? Unhon ne farmaya: haan, agar tum chaho to (main isay baja lane ko tayyar hoon), chunanche Hazrat Bilal (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne takbeer kahi to Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) aage badhe (aur namaz parhane lage). Itne mein Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) saffon ke darmiyan se guzarte hue pehli saff mein aa pahunche. Aap ko dekh kar log baar baar hath par hath maarne (taliyan bajane) lage lekin Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) dauran-e-namaz mein kisi taraf mutawajje nahi hote thay. (Taliyon ki kasrat ki wajah se) unhon ne idhar dekha to maloom hua ke Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) un ke peeche tashreef farma hain. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apne dast-e-anwar se ishara karte hue unhein hukm diya ke woh badastoor namaz parhate rahein, lekin Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne apna hath uthaya, Allah ki hamd-o-sana ki, phir ulte paon peeche aa gaye aur saff mein khade ho gaye. Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) aage badhe aur logon ko namaz parhayi. Jab farigh huye to logon ki taraf mutawajje ho kar farmaya: ''Logo! Jab namaz mein tumhein koi masla pesh aata hai to tali bajana kyon shuru kar dete ho? Tali bajana to aurton ke liye hai. Ayenda tum mein se kisi ko dauran-e-namaz mein koi cheez pesh aaye to woh SubhanAllah kahe kyunke jo bhi isay sunega woh idhar mutawajje hoga. Ay Abu Bakr! Jab main ne tumhein ishara kiya tha to phir kis cheez ne tumhein namaz parhane se rok diya?'' Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne arz kiya: Abu Quhafa ke bete ko zeb nahi deta ke woh Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki maujoodgi mein namaz parhaye.
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ أُنَاسًا مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ كَانَ بَيْنَهُمْ شَيْءٌ ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَلَمْ يَأْتِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَأْتِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُبِسَ وَقَدْ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَهَلْ لَكَ أَنْ تَؤُمَّ النَّاسَ ؟ فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ ، إِنْ شِئْتَ ، فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَتَقَدَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي فِي الصُّفُوفِ حَتَّى قَامَ فِي الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ، فَأَخَذَ النَّاسُ بِالتَّصْفِيحِ حَتَّى أَكْثَرُوا ، وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ لَا يَكَادُ يَلْتَفِتُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَالْتَفَتَ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَاءَهُ ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ بِيَدِهِ ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ كَمَا هُوَ ، فَرَفَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَدَهُ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ الْقَهْقَرَى وَرَاءَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ فِي الصَّفِّ ، وَتَقَدَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِذَا نَابَكُمْ شَيْءٌ فِي صَلَاتِكُمْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِالتَّصْفِيحِ ، إِنَّمَا التَّصْفِيحُ لِلنِّسَاءِ ، مَنْ نَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَقُلْ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَسْمَعُهُ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا الْتَفَتَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، مَا مَنَعَكَ حِينَ أَشَرْتُ إِلَيْكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ ؟ فَقَالَ : مَا كَانَ يَنْبَغِي لِابْنِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
