Sahih al-Bukhari 4101
Narrated Jabir: We were digging (the trench) on the day of (Al-Khandaq ( i.e. Trench )) and we came across a big solid rock. We went to the Prophet and said, Here is a rock appearing across the trench. He said, I am coming down. Then he got up, and a stone was tied to his belly for we had not eaten anything for three days. So the Prophet took the spade and struck the big solid rock and it became like sand. I said, O Allah's Apostle! Allow me to go home. (When the Prophet allowed me) I said to my wife, I saw the Prophet in a state that I cannot treat lightly. Have you got something (for him to eat? She replied, I have barley and a she goat. So I slaughtered the she-kid and she ground the barley; then we put the meat in the earthenware cooking pot. Then I came to the Prophet when the dough had become soft and fermented and (the meat in) the pot over the stone trivet had nearly been well-cooked, and said, I have got a little food prepared, so get up O Allah's Apostle, you and one or two men along with you (for the food). The Prophet asked, How much is that food? I told him about it. He said, It is abundant and good. Tell your wife not to remove the earthenware pot from the fire and not to take out any bread from the oven till I reach there. Then he said (to all his companions), Get up. So the Muhajirn (i.e. Emigrants) and the Ansar got up. When I came to my wife, I said, Allah's Mercy be upon you! The Prophet came along with the Muhajirin and the Ansar and those who were present with them. She said, Did the Prophet ask you (how much food you had)? I replied, Yes. Then the Prophet said, Enter and do not throng. The Prophet started cutting the bread (into pieces) and put the cooked meat over it. He covered the earthenware pot and the oven whenever he took something out of them. He would give the food to his companions and take the meat out of the pot. He went on cutting the bread and scooping the meat (for his companions) till they all ate their fill, and even then, some food remained. Then the Prophet said (to my wife), Eat and present to others as the people are struck with hunger.
حضرت جابر ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: ہم خندق کے دن زمین کھود رہے تھے۔ اچانک ایک سخت چٹان نمودار ہوئی۔ صحابہ كرام ؓ نبی ﷺ کے پاس حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کی: خندق میں ایک سخت چٹان نکل آئی ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’میں خود اتر کر اسے دور کرتا ہوں۔‘‘ چنانچہ آپ کھڑے ہوئے تو (بھوک کی وجہ سے) آپ کے پیٹ پر پتھر بندھے ہوئے تھے اور ہم بھی تین دن سے بھوکے پیاسے تھے۔ نبی ﷺ نے کدال اپنے ہاتھ میں لی اور جب اس چٹان پر ماری تو مارتے ہی وہ ریت کی طرح ریزہ ریزہ ہو گئی۔ میں نے عرض کی: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے گھر جانے کی اجازت دیں۔ پھر میں نے گھر آ کر اپنی بیوی سے کہا: آج میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اس حالت میں دیکھا ہے جو مجھ سے برداشت نہیں ہو سکی۔ کیا تمہارے پاس کچھ کھانے کو ہے؟ اس نے کہا: میرے پاس کچھ جو ہیں اور ایک بکری کا بچہ ہے۔ میں نے جلدی سے بکری کا بچہ ذبح کیا اور میری بیوی نے جو پیسے۔ پھر ہم نے گوشت کے ٹکڑے ہنڈیا میں رکھے۔ اس کے بعد میں نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا جبکہ آٹا گوندھا جا چکا تھا اور گوشت چولہے پر پکنے کے قریب تھا۔ میں نے آپ سے گزارش کی: اللہ کے رسول! گھر کھانے کے لیے تھوڑا سا کھانا تیار ہے۔ آپ ایک دو آدمیوں کو ساتھ لے کر تشریف لے چلیں۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’کھانا کس قدر ہے؟‘‘ میں نے آپ کو سب کچھ بتا دیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ’’یہ تو مقدار میں بہت اور معیار میں بہت عمدہ اور پاکیزہ ہے۔‘‘ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’بس اپنی بیوی سے کہو کہ میرے آنے سے پہلے ہنڈیا چولہے سے نہ اتارے اور نہ تنور سے روٹی نکالے۔‘‘ پھر آپ نے صحابہ کرام ؓ سے فرمایا: ’’سب لوگ چلیں۔‘‘ چنانچہ تمام مہاجرین اور انصار تیار ہو گئے۔ جب حضرت جابر ؓ گھر پہنچے تو اپنی بیوی سے کہا: اب کیا ہو گا؟ نبی ﷺ تو تمام مہاجرین اور انصار کو ساتھ لے کر تشریف لا رہے ہیں۔ ان کی بیوی نے پوچھا: کیا آپ ﷺ نے تم سے کچھ دریافت کیا تھا؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں۔ اس دوران میں آپ ﷺ نے صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنھم سے فرمایا: ’’سب اندر آ جاؤ لیکن ازدہام نہ کرو۔‘‘ پھر آپ ﷺ نے روٹیوں کے ٹکڑے کیے اور ان پر گوشت ڈالنے لگے۔ جب آپ ہنڈیا اور تنور سے کچھ نکالتے تو انہیں ڈھانپ دیتے۔ آپ ﷺ نے وہ کھانا اپنے صحابہ کرام ؓ کے قریب کر دیا۔ اسی طرح آپ مسلسل روٹیوں کے ٹکڑے کرتے رہے اور ان پر گوشت ڈالتے رہے حتی کہ تمام صحابہ کرام ؓ سیر ہو گئے اور کھانا بھی بچ گیا۔ (آخر میں) آپ ﷺ نے حضرت جابر کی بیوی سے فرمایا: ’’اب یہ کھانا تم خود بھی کھاؤ اور لوگوں کو ہدیہ بھی بھیجو کیونکہ لوگ آج کل فاقے میں مبتلا ہیں۔‘‘
Hazrat Jabir (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya: Hum khandaq ke din zameen khod rahay thay. Achanak ek sakht chattan namudar hui. Sahaba-e-Kiram (Radiyallahu Anhu) Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke paas hazir huay aur arz ki: Khandaq mein ek sakht chattan nikal aayi hai. Aap ne farmaya: ''Main khud utar kar isay door karta hun.'' Chunanche Aap khaday huay to (bhook ki wajah se) Aap ke pait par patthar bandhay huay thay aur hum bhi teen din se bhookay pyasay thay. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne kudal apnay haath mein li aur jab is chattan par mari to martay hi woh rait ki tarah reza reza ho gayi. Main ne arz ki: Allah ke Rasul! mujhe ghar jaanay ki ijazat dein. Phir main ne ghar aa kar apni biwi se kaha: Aaj main ne Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko is haalat mein dekha hai jo mujh se bardasht nahi ho saki. Kya tumharay paas kuch khanay ko hai? Us ne kaha: Meray paas kuch jau hain aur ek bakri ka bacha hai. Main ne jaldi se bakri ka bacha zibah kiya aur meri biwi ne jau peesay. Phir hum ne gosht ke tukday handiya mein rakkhay. Is ke baad main Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua jabke aata goundha ja chuka tha aur gosht choolhay par paknay ke qarib tha. Main ne aap se guzarish ki: Allah ke Rasul! ghar khanay ke liye thoda sa khana tayyar hai. Aap ek do aadmiyon ko saath le kar tashreef le chalein. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Khana kis qadar hai?'' Main ne aap ko sab kuch bata diya to Aap ne farmaya: ''Yeh to miqdar mein bahut aur miyar mein bahut umdah aur pakiza hai.'' Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Bas apni biwi se kaho ke meray aanay se pehlay handiya choolhay se na utaray aur na tanoor se roti nikalay.'' Phir aap ne Sahaba-e-Kiram (Radiyallahu Anhu) se farmaya: ''Sab log chalein.'' Chunanche tamam Muhajireen aur Ansar tayyar ho gaye. Jab Hazrat Jabir (Radiyallahu Anhu) ghar pahunchay to apni biwi se kaha: Ab kya ho ga? Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) to tamam Muhajireen aur Ansar ko saath le kar tashreef la rahay hain. In ki biwi ne pucha: Kya Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne tum se kuch daryaft kiya tha? Main ne kaha: Haan. Is dauran mein Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Sahaba-e-Kiram (Radiyallahu Anhum) se farmaya: ''Sab andar aa jao lekin izdeham na karo.'' Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne rotiyon ke tukday kiye aur in par gosht daalnay lagay. Jab Aap handiya aur tanoor se kuch nikaltay to inhein dhanp detay. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne woh khana apnay Sahaba-e-Kiram (Radiyallahu Anhu) ke qarib kar diya. Isi tarah Aap musalsal rotiyon ke tukday kartay rahay aur in par gosht daaltay rahay hatta ke tamam Sahaba-e-Kiram (Radiyallahu Anhu) sair ho gaye aur khana bhi bach gaya. (Aakhir mein) Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Hazrat Jabir ki biwi se farmaya: ''Ab yeh khana tum khud bhi khao aur logon ko hadiya bhi bhejo kyunke log aaj kal faaqay mein mubtala hain.'’
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ أَيْمَنَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ جَابِرًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ : إِنَّا يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ نَحْفِرُ فَعَرَضَتْ كُدْيَةٌ شَدِيدَةٌ , فَجَاءُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالُوا : هَذِهِ كُدْيَةٌ عَرَضَتْ فِي الْخَنْدَقِ , فَقَالَ : أَنَا نَازِلٌ , ثُمَّ قَامَ وَبَطْنُهُ مَعْصُوبٌ بِحَجَرٍ , وَلَبِثْنَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ لَا نَذُوقُ ذَوَاقًا , فَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمِعْوَلَ فَضَرَبَ , فَعَادَ كَثِيبًا أَهْيَلَ أَوْ أَهْيَمَ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ائْذَنْ لِي إِلَى الْبَيْتِ , فَقُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي : رَأَيْتُ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا مَا كَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ صَبْرٌ , فَعِنْدَكِ شَيْءٌ , قَالَتْ : عِنْدِي شَعِيرٌ وَعَنَاقٌ , فَذَبَحَتِ الْعَنَاقَ وَطَحَنَتِ الشَّعِيرَ حَتَّى جَعَلْنَا اللَّحْمَ فِي الْبُرْمَةِ , ثُمَّ جِئْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْعَجِينُ قَدِ انْكَسَرَ وَالْبُرْمَةُ بَيْنَ الْأَثَافِيِّ قَدْ كَادَتْ أَنْ تَنْضَجَ , فَقُلْتُ : طُعَيِّمٌ لِي فَقُمْ أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَرَجُلٌ أَوْ رَجُلَانِ , قَالَ : كَمْ هُوَ , فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ , قَالَ : كَثِيرٌ طَيِّبٌ , قَالَ : قُلْ لَهَا لَا تَنْزِعِ الْبُرْمَةَ وَلَا الْخُبْزَ مِنَ التَّنُّورِ حَتَّى آتِيَ , فَقَالَ : قُومُوا فَقَامَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ , فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَى امْرَأَتِهِ قَالَ : وَيْحَكِ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَمَنْ مَعَهُمْ , قَالَتْ : هَلْ سَأَلَكَ , قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ , فَقَالَ : ادْخُلُوا وَلَا تَضَاغَطُوا فَجَعَلَ يَكْسِرُ الْخُبْزَ وَيَجْعَلُ عَلَيْهِ اللَّحْمَ وَيُخَمِّرُ الْبُرْمَةَ وَالتَّنُّورَ إِذَا أَخَذَ مِنْهُ وَيُقَرِّبُ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ , ثُمَّ يَنْزِعُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَكْسِرُ الْخُبْزَ وَيَغْرِفُ حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَبَقِيَ بَقِيَّةٌ , قَالَ : كُلِي هَذَا وَأَهْدِي فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ أَصَابَتْهُمْ مَجَاعَةٌ .
