His Statement: "Those (i.e., believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, 'Verily the people (Mushrikūn) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them..."' (V .3:173)

Sahih al-Bukhari 4563
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: 'Allah is Sufficient for us and He Is the Best Disposer of affairs, was said by Abraham when he was thrown into the fire; and it was said by Muhammad when they (i.e. hypocrites) said, A great army is gathering against you, therefore, fear them, but it only increased their faith and they said: Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer (of affairs, for us). (3.173)
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابراہیم ؑ کو جب آگ میں ڈالا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: ﴿حَسْبُنَا اللَّـهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ﴾ اور محمد ﷺ نے یہ کلمہ اس وقت کہا جب منافقین نے افواہ پھیلائی کہ "لوگوں نے آپ سے لڑنے کے لیے بہت بڑا لشکر تیار کر رکھا ہے، لہذا ان سے ڈرو۔" یہ خبر سن کر صحابہ کرام ؓ کا ایمان بڑھ گیا اور انہوں نے بھی یہی کہا: ''ہمیں اللہ کافی ہے اور وہ بہت اچھا کارساز ہے۔"
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaihis Salam) ko jab aag mein dala gaya to unhon ne kaha: {Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel} aur Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne yeh kalma is waqt kaha jab munafiqeen ne afwaah phailayi ke "logon ne aap se larne ke liye bahut bara lashkar tayyar kar rakha hai, lehaza un se daro." Yeh khabar sun kar sahabah karam (Radi Allahu Anhum) ka iman barh gaya aur unhon ne bhi yahi kaha: ''Humein Allah kafi hai aur woh bahut acha kar-saaz hai."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، أُرَاهُ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ ، قَالَهَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام حِينَ أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ ، وَقَالَهَا مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ ، قَالُوا : إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ سورة آل عمران آية 173 .
