The Statement of Allah: "Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year) so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred, (i.e., the 1st, the 7th, the 11th, and the 12th months

باب قَوْلِهِ {إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ} {الْقَيِّمُ} هُوَ الْقَائِمُ.

Sahih al-Bukhari 4662
Abu Bakr ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘time has come back to its original state which it had when Allah created the Heavens and the Earth; the year is twelve months, four of which are sacred. Three of them are in succession; Dhul-Qa'da, Dhul-Hijja and Al-Muharram, and (the fourth being) Rajab Mudar (named after the tribe of Mudar as they used to respect this month) which stands between Jumada (ath-thani) and Sha'ban.’
حضرت ابوبکرہ ؓ سے روایت، وہ نبی ﷺ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’زمانہ گھوم گھ کر پھر اسی حالت پر آ گیا ہے جس حالت پر اس وقت تھا جب اللہ تعالٰی نے آسمانوں اور زمین کی تخلیق فرمائی تھی۔ سال بارہ ماہ کا ہوتا ہے۔ اس میں سے چار حرمت والے مہینے ہیں۔ تین تو لگاتار ہیں، یعنی ذوالقعدہ، ذوالحجہ اور محرم اور چوتھا رجب مضر جو جمادی الاخری اور شعبان کے درمیان ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Bakrah (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat, woh Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se bayan karte hain ke aap ne farmaya: ''Zamana ghoom ghoom kar phir isi haalaat par aa gaya hai jis haalaat par is waqt tha jab Allah Tala ne aasmanon aur zameen ki takhleeq farmai thi. Saal barah mah ka hota hai. Is mein se char hurmat wale mahine hain. Teen to lagatar hain, yaani Zul-Qadah, Zul-Hijjah aur Muharram aur chautha Rajab Mudar jo Jumada-al-Akhira aur Shaban ke darmiyan hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِنَّ الزَّمَانَ قَدِ اسْتَدَارَ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ، السَّنَةُ : اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا ، مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ، ثَلَاثٌ مُتَوَالِيَاتٌ : ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ ، وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ ، وَالْمُحَرَّمُ ، وَرَجَبُ ، مُضَرَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ جُمَادَى وَشَعْبَانَ .
