Sahih al-Bukhari 4675
Narrated Al-Musaiyab: When Abu Talib's death approached, the Prophet went to him while Abu Jahl and `Abdullah bin Abi Umaiya were present with him. The Prophet said, O uncle, say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, so that I may argue for your case with it before Allah. On that, Abu Jahl and `Abdullah bin Abu Umaiya said, O Abu Talib! Do you want to renounce `Abdul Muttalib's religion? Then the Prophet said, I will keep on asking (Allah for) forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden to do so. Then there was revealed:-- 'It is not fitting for the Prophet and those who believe that they should invoke (Allah) for forgiveness for pagans even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of the Fire.' (9.113)
مسیب بن حزن ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: جب ابوطالب کی وفات کا وقت آیا تو نبی ﷺ اس کے پاس تشریف لے گئے۔ اس وقت ان کے پاس ابوجہل اور عبداللہ بن امیہ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’اے چچا! لا اله الا اللہ پڑھ لو، میں اللہ کے ہاں تیری مغفرت کے لیے اسے بطور دلیل پیش کروں گا۔‘‘ ابوجہل اور عبداللہ بن امیہ دونوں کہنے لگے: اے ابو طالب! کیا تم عبدالمطلب کا دین چھوڑو گے؟ اس وقت نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’میں تمہارے لیے ضرور بخشش کی دعا کرتا رہوں گا جب تک مجھے اس سے منع نہ کر دیا جائے۔‘‘ اس وقت یہ آیت نازل ہوئی: ’’نبی اور اہل ایمان کے لیے یہ مناسب نہیں کہ وہ مشرکین کے لیے بخشش طلب کریں، خواہ وہ ان کے قریبی رشتے دار ہی کیوں نہ ہوں جبکہ ان پر یہ بات واضح ہو چکی ہے کہ مشرکین یقینا دوزخی ہیں۔‘‘
Musayyib bin Hazan (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Jab Abu Talib ki wafat ka waqt aaya to Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is ke paas tashreef le gaye. Is waqt in ke paas Abu Jahl aur Abdullah bin Umayyah baithe hue thay. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Ae chacha! La ilaha illallah parh lo, main Allah ke haan teri maghfirat ke liye isay bator-e-daleel pesh karoon ga.'' Abu Jahl aur Abdullah bin Umayyah dono kehne lage: Ae Abu Talib! Kya tum Abdul Muttalib ka deen choro ge? Is waqt Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Main tumhare liye zaroor bakhshish ki dua karta rahoon ga jab tak mujhe is se mana na kar diya jaye.'' Is waqt yeh ayat nazil hui: ''Nabi aur ahl-e-iman ke liye yeh munasib nahi ke woh mushrikeen ke liye bakhshish talab karen, khwah woh in ke qareebi rishte dar hi kyun na hon jabke in par yeh baat wazih ho chuki hai ke mushrikeen yaqeenan dozakhi hain.''
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا حَضَرَتْ أَبَا طَالِبٍ الْوَفَاةُ ، دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو جَهْلٍ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيْ عَمِّ ، قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أُحَاجُّ لَكَ بِهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ : يَا أَبَا طَالِبٍ ، أَتَرْغَبُ عَنْ مِلَّةِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ مَا لَمْ أُنْهَ عَنْكَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا أُولِي قُرْبَى مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ سورة التوبة آية 113 .
