Chapter on interpreting the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him

باب تأويل حديث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Sunan al-Darimi 610

It is narrated on the authority of Aun bin Abdullah: Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "When a Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is narrated to you, then know that it is a matter of great agreement, great guidance and great piety."

عون بن عبداللہ سے مروی ہے سیدنا عبدالله بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب تم کو رسول اللہ ﷺ کی حدیث بیان کی جائے تو یہ یقین رکھو کہ وہ بات بہت زیادہ موافقت والی، بہت زیادہ ہدایت والی و بہت زیادہ تقویٰ والی ہے۔

Aun bin Abdullah se marvi hai Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya: Jab tum ko Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki hadees bayan ki jaye to yeh yaqeen rakho ke woh baat bahut zyada muwafqat wali, bahut zyada hidayat wali wa bahut zyada taqwa wali hai.

(حديث موقوف) أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ، قَالَ: "إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَأُ، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى".

Sunan al-Darimi 611

It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman As-Sulami that Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: When the Hadith of Rasulullah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, is narrated to you, then be certain that it embodies the greatest guidance, piety, and conformity.


Grade: Sahih

ابوعبدالرحمٰن السلمی سے مروی ہے سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب تم کو رسول الله ﷺ کی حدیث بیان کی جائے تو یقین رکھو کہ وہ سب سے زیادہ ہدایت والی، تقویٰ والی، اور موافقت والی ہے۔

Abu Abdur Rahman Al Salmi se marvi hai sayyidna Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya: Jab tum ko Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki hadees bayaan ki jaye to yaqeen rakho keh woh sab se zyada hidayat wali, taqwa wali, aur muwafqat wali hai.

(حديث موقوف) أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: "إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ شَيْئًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَأُ".

Sunan al-Darimi 612

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say when narrating a hadith of the Messenger of Allah: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever intentionally lies against me, let him prepare his seat in Hellfire."


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ جب حدیث رسول بیان کرتے تو کہتے: رسول الله ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جس نے جان بوجھ کر مجھ پر جھوٹ باندھا وہ اپنا ٹھکانہ جہنم میں بنا لے۔“

Sayyidina Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu jab hadees rasool bayan karte to kahte: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Jis ne jaan boojh kar mujh par jhoot bandha woh apna thikana jahannam mein bana le."

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَانَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ"..

Sunan al-Darimi 613

When our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, would narrate a hadith, he used to say: When you hear me narrating a hadith of the Messenger of Allah and you do not find it in the Book of Allah, nor find a better one with the people, then know that I have lied against the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما جب حدیث بیان کرتے فرماتے: جب تم مجھ کو حدیث رسول بیان کرتے سنو اور اسے کتاب اللہ میں نہ پاؤ، اور لوگوں کے پاس بھی بہتر نہ ملے تو جان لو میں نے آپ ﷺ پر جھوٹ بولا۔

Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a jab hadees bayaan karte farmate: Jab tum mujh ko hadees Rasool bayaan karte suno aur ise kitab Allah mein na pao, aur logon ke paas bhi behtar na mile to jaan lo mein ne aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) par jhoot bola.

فَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِذَا حَدَّثَ قَالَ: إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُونِي أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمْ تَجِدُوهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، أَوْ حَسَنًا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ، فَاعْلَمُوا أَنِّي قَدْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ..

Sunan al-Darimi 614

It is narrated on the authority of Sulayman al-A'mash, 'Ikrimah (the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "The people who are most unafraid of a scholar are the people of his household."


Grade: Sahih

سلیمان الأحول سے مروی ہے، عکرمہ (مولی سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما) نے فرمایا: عالم کے بارے میں سب سے زیادہ بے خوف اس کے گھر والے ہیں۔

Sulaiman al-Ahwal se marvi hai, Ikrama (maula Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a) ne farmaya: Aalim ke bare mein sab se ziada be-khauf uske ghar wale hain.

(حديث مقطوع) أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ:"إِنَّ أَزْهَدَ النَّاسِ فِي عَالِمٍ أَهْلُهُ".
