Chapter on when the prayer is called, there should be no prayer except the obligatory one

باب إذا أقيمت الصلاة، فلا صلاة إلا المكتوبة

Sunan al-Darimi 1486

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When the Iqamah (call for the prayer) is pronounced, there is no prayer but the compulsory prayer."

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جب نماز کی اقامت کہی جائے تو سوائے فرض نماز کے کوئی نماز نہیں۔“

Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Jab namaz ki iqamat kahi jaye to siwaye farz namaz ke koi namaz nahi.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةُ".

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira, through the same chain of transmitters.


Grade: Sahih

اس سند سے سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے ایسے ہی روایت کیا۔

Iss سند se syedna Abu Huraira razi Allah anhu ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se aise hi riwayat kya.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَلَّاسُ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، نَحْوَهُ.

Sunan al-Darimi 1488

Sayyiduna Ibn Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Iqamah (call to start the prayer) was pronounced, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) noticed a man praying two Rak'ahs (units of prayer). When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, the people gathered around him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do you (usually) pray four Rak'ahs for (Fajr) the morning prayer?"

سیدنا ابن بحینہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: نماز کی اقامت ہو چکی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ کی نظر ایسے شخص پر پڑی جو دو رکعت سنت پڑھ رہا تھا، جب نبی کریم ﷺ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو لوگوں نے اسے گھیر لیا۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کیا تو (فجر)، صبح کی چار رکعتیں پڑھتا ہے۔“

Sayyidna Ibn Baheenah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Namaz ki Iqamat ho chuki to Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki nazar aise shakhs par padi jo do rakat sunnat padh raha tha, jab Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz se farigh hue to logon ne use gher liya. Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Kya tu (Fajr), subah ki chaar rakat padhta hai“.

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَرَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ، لَاثَ بِهِ النَّاسُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَتُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ أَرْبَعًا؟".

Sunan al-Darimi 1489

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When the Iqamah (call to start prayer) is pronounced, then there is no prayer except the obligatory prayer.” Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If one is praying at home and the Iqamah is pronounced in the mosque, then it is relatively easy."


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جب نماز کی اقامت کہہ دی جائے (یعنی تکبیر)، تو پھر سوائے فرض نماز کے اور کوئی نماز نہیں۔“ امام دارمی رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا: اگر گھر میں نماز پڑھ رہا ہو اور مسجد میں اقامت کہی جائے تو یہ نسبتاً آسان ہے۔

Saina Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Jab namaz ki iqamat keh di jaye (yani takbeer), to phir siwaye farz namaz ke aur koi namaz nahi." Imam Darmi Rahmatullah Alaih ne farmaya: Agar ghar mein namaz parh raha ho aur masjid mein iqamat kehi jaye to ye nisbatan aasan hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةُ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: إِذَا كَانَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَالْبَيْتُ أَهْوَنُ.
