Chapter on those to whom charity is permissible

باب من تحل له الصدقة

Sunan al-Darimi 1677

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As, may Allah be pleased with both of them, said: The Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Charity is not lawful for a rich person nor for a strong, able-bodied person.” Imam al-Darimi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: The meaning of “strong” here is “able-bodied”.

Grade: Sahih

سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”نہ غنی (مالدار) کے لئے صدقہ لینا حلال ہے اور نہ طاقت ور مضبوط آدمی کے واسطے۔“ امام دارمی رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا: «سوي» کے معنی قوی کے ہیں۔

Syedna Abdullah bin Amro bin al-Aas RA ne kaha: Rasul Allah SAW ne farmaya: ”Na ghani ke liye sadqa lena halal hai aur na taqatwar mazboot aadmi ke waste.“ Imam Darmi RH ne farmaya: «Sawi» ke mani qawi ke hain.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ رَيْحَانَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَا تَحِلُّ الصَّدَقَةُ لِغَنِيٍّ وَلَا لِذِي مِرَّةٍ سَوِيٍّ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: يَعْنِي: قَوِيٍّ.

Sunan al-Darimi 1678

Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever begs while he is rich will come on the Day of Resurrection with marks of scratches on his face." It was said: "What is the limit of richness?" He said: "Fifty dirhams or its equivalent in gold."

Grade: Hasan

سیدنا عبدالله بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: رسول الله ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جو غنی ہوتے ہوئے مانگے وہ قیامت کے دن چہرے پر زخموں کے نشان لئے ہوئے آئے گا“، عرض کیا گیا: مالداری کی حد کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ”پچاس درہم یا اسی کے مساوی سونا۔“

Syedna Abdullah bin Masood Raziallahu Anhu ne kaha: Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Jo gani hote huye maange woh qayamat ke din chehre par zakhmon ke nishan liye huye aaye ga“, arz kiya gaya: maldari ki had kya hai? farmaya: ”Pachas dirham ya isi ke musavi sona“

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَفِي وَجْهِهِ خُمُوشٌ أَوْ كُدُوحٌ أَوْ خُدُوشٌ". قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَمَا الْغِنَى؟ قَالَ:"خَمْسُونَ دِرْهَمًا أَوْ قِيمَتُهَا مِنْ الذَّهَبِ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1679

Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in this second Hadith as well.

Grade: Hasan

اس دوسری سند سے بھی سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اسی طرح روایت کیا ہے۔

Is doosri sand se bhi Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se isi tarah riwayat kiya hai.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، بِنَحْوِهِ.
