Sunan al-Darimi 205
Muadh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "The Qur'an will be made easy for the people, so much so that women, children, and men will all read it. A man will say, 'I have read the Qur'an, but I am not being followed.' By Allah, I will surely stand with it again, perhaps I will be followed.' So he will recite it again, and still no one will follow him. Then he will say, 'I recited the Qur'an, but I was not followed. I stood with it, but to no avail. Now I will build a mosque in my house, perhaps I will be followed.' So he will build a mosque in his house, but still, he will not be followed. Then he will say, 'I recited the Qur'an, but I was not followed. I stood with it, but I was not followed. I built a mosque in my house, but I was not followed. By Allah, now I will bring them things that they will find neither in the Book of Allah Almighty nor in what they heard from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, perhaps then they will follow me.'" Muadh, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Beware! Beware of what he says (that is, besides the Qur'an and Sunnah), whatever he brings will be misguidance."

سیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: قرآن کریم لوگوں پر آسان ہو جائے گا یہاں تک کہ عورت بچے اور مرد سب اس کو پڑھیں گے، آدمی کہے گا میں نے قرآن پاک پڑھا لیکن میری پیروی نہیں کی جاتی، قسم اللہ کی میں پھر اس کو (لے کر کھڑا ہوں گا) ضرور پڑھوں گا، شاید میری اتباع کی جائے، چنانچہ پھر پڑھے گا اور پھر بھی کوئی اس کی پیروی نہ کرے گا، تو وہ کہے گا: میں نے قرآن پڑھا لیکن میری پیروی نہیں کی گئی، میں اسے لے کر ان میں کھڑا ہوا، پھر بھی کوئی فائدہ نہ ہوا، اب میں اپنے گھر میں مسجد بناؤں گا شاید میری پیروی کی جائے، چنانچہ وہ اپنے گھر میں مسجد بنائے گا، پھر بھی اس کی پیروی نہ کی جائے گی تو وہ کہے گا: میں نے قرآن پڑھا لیکن میری پیروی نہ کی گئی، اسے لے کر کھڑا ہوا پھر بھی اتباع نہ کی گئی، اپنے گھر میں مسجد بنائی پھر بھی اتباع نہ کی گئی۔ قسم اللہ کی اب میں ایسی باتیں ان کے لئے لاوں گا جسے وہ اللہ عزوجل کی کتاب میں پائیں گے اور نہ رسول اللہ ﷺ سے سنی ہوں گی شاید اس وقت میری پیروی کی جائے۔ سیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: خبردار! جو وہ بتائے اس سے بچنا (وہ قرآن و سنت کے علاوہ) جو کچھ لائے گا وہ گمراہی ہے۔
Sayyidna Muaz bin Jabal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Quran Kareem logon per aasan ho jaye ga yahan tak ke aurat bachay aur mard sab is ko parhen ge, aadmi kahe ga main ne Quran Pak parh liya lekin meri pairavi nahin ki jati, qasam Allah ki main phir is ko (le kar khara hon ga) zaroor parhon ga, shayad meri ittaba ki jaye, chunancha phir parhe ga aur phir bhi koi is ki pairavi na kare ga, to woh kahe ga: main ne Quran parh liya lekin meri pairavi nahin ki gai, main ise le kar in mein khara hua, phir bhi koi faidah na hua, ab main apne ghar mein masjid banaung ga shayad meri pairavi ki jaye, chunancha woh apne ghar mein masjid banaye ga, phir bhi is ki pairavi na ki jaye gi to woh kahe ga: main ne Quran parh liya lekin meri pairavi na ki gai, ise le kar khara hua phir bhi ittaba na ki gai, apne ghar mein masjid banai phir bhi ittaba na ki gai. Qasam Allah ki ab main aisi baaten in ke liye launga jise woh Allah Azzawajal ki kitaab mein payen ge aur na Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se suni hon gi shayad is waqt meri pairavi ki jaye. Sayyidna Muaz (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Khabar dar! jo woh bataye is se bachna (woh Quran o Sunnat ke ilawa) jo kuchh laye ga woh gumrahi hai.
(حديث موقوف) أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: قَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: "يُفْتَحُ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى النَّاسِ حَتَّى يَقْرَأَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالصَّبِيُّ وَالرَّجُلُ، فَيَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ: قَدْ قَرَأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعُ، وَاللَّهِ لَأَقُومَنَّ بِهِ فِيهِمْ لَعَلِّي أُتَّبَعُ، فَيَقُومُ بِهِ فِيهِمْ فَلَا يُتَّبَعُ، فَيَقُولُ: قَدْ قَرَأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعْ، وَقَدْ قُمْتُ بِهِ فِيهِمْ، فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعْ، لأَحْتَظِرْنَّ فِي بَيْتِي مَسْجِدًا لَعَلِّي أُتَّبَعْ، فَيَحْتَظِرُ فِي بَيْتِهِ مَسْجِدًا فَلَا يُتَّبَعُ، فَيَقُولُ: قَدْ قَرَأْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعْ، وَقُمْتُ بِهِ فِيهِمْ فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعْ، وَقَدْ احْتَظَرْتُ فِي بَيْتِي مَسْجِدًا , فَلَمْ أُتَّبَعْ، وَاللَّهِ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ لَا يَجِدُونَهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَلَمْ يَسْمَعُوهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ لَعَلِّي أُتَّبَعُ، قَالَ مُعَاذٌ: فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَمَا جَاءَ بِهِ فَإِنَّ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ ضَلَالَةٌ".
