Sahih Ibn Hibban 3136b
Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: We went out with Umar and when we were in Al-Baida' there was a rider in the shade of a tree. Umar said, "O Abdullah bin Abbas! See who the rider is." I went and found Suhaib along with his family. He said to me, "Call Suhaib for me." I called him and he came along with us to Medina. Umar fell ill and said, "O my brother! O my companion!" Umar said, "O Suhaib! Don't weep, for I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'The dead person is punished for his family's weeping over him.'"
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ نکلے، جب ہم البیضاء میں پہنچے تو ایک سوار درخت کے سائے میں تھا، عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: عبداللہ بن عباس! جاؤ دیکھو تو یہ سوار کون ہے؟ میں گیا تو وہ صہیب رضی اللہ عنہ تھے، ان کے پاس ان کا اہل و عیال بھی تھا، انہوں نے مجھ سے کہا: مجھے صہیب کے پاس بلاؤ، میں نے انہیں بلایا تو وہ ہمارے ساتھ مدینہ آئے، عمر رضی اللہ عنہ بیمار ہو گئے تو کہا: اے میرے بھائی! اے میرے ساتھی! پھر فرمایا: اے صہیب! تم ( میرے مرنے پر ) رونا مت کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ میت کو اس کے اہل کے اس پر رونے کی وجہ سے عذاب دیا جاتا ہے ۔
Abdullah bin Abbas razi Allah anhuma kahte hain ki hum Umar razi Allah anhu ke sath nikle, jab hum al-baida mein pahunche to ek savar darakht ke saaye mein tha, Umar razi Allah anhu ne farmaya: Abdullah bin Abbas! jao dekho to ye savar kaun hai? mein gaya to wo Saheb razi Allah anhu the, unke pas unka ahl o ayaal bhi tha, unhon ne mujhse kaha: mujhe Saheb ke pas bulao, mein ne unhen bulaya to wo humare sath Madinah aaye, Umar razi Allah anhu bimar ho gaye to kaha: aye mere bhai! aye mere sathi! phir farmaya: aye Saheb! tum (mere marne par) rona mat kyunki mein ne Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki mayyat ko uske ahl ke us par rone ki wajah se azab diya jata hai.
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ عُمَرَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالْبَيْدَاءِ إِذَا رَاكِبٌ فِي ظِلِّ شَجَرَةٍ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ انْظُرْ مَنِ الرَّاكِبُ فَجِئْتُ فَإِذَا صُهَيْبٌ مَعَهُ أَهْلُهُ فَقَالَ لِيَ ادْعُ لِي صُهَيْبًا فَصَحِبَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأُصِيبَ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ وَاأَخَاهُ وَاصَاحِبَاهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ يَا صُهَيْبُ لَا تَبْكِي فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يُعَذَّبُ الْمَيِّتِ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ»
