Sahih Ibn Hibban 4732
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported: When the Prophet ﷺ would go out for an expedition and they (hypocrites) stayed behind, they rejoiced in staying in their places, contrary to the liking of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned, they would apologize to him and swear (that they were truthful) and wished to be praised for what they did not do. So, the verse was revealed: "Think not of those who rejoice in what they have done..."
ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کسی غزوہ میں تشریف لے جاتے اور یہ (منافقین) پیچھے رہ جاتے تو یہ اپنی جگہوں پر ٹھہر جانے پر خوش ہوتے حالانکہ یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ناگوار گزرتا تھا اور جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم واپس تشریف لاتے تو یہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے معذرت کرتے اور قسمیں کھاتے اور ایسی چیزوں پر اپنی تعریف چاہتے جو انہوں نے کی ہی نہ ہوتیں تو یہ آیت نازل ہوئی (ترجمہ آیت: "اور جن لوگوں نے جو کچھ کیا اس پر خوش ہوئے"۔)
Abu Saeed Khudri Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam kisi ghazwa mein tashreef le jate aur ye (munafiqeen) peeche reh jate to ye apni jagahon par theher jane par khush hote halanki ye Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko nagawar guzarta tha aur jab Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam wapas tashreef late to ye aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se mazrat karte aur qasmein khate aur aisi cheezon par apni tareef chahte jo unhon ne ki hi nahin thin to ye ayat nazil hui (tarjuma ayat: "Aur jin logon ne jo kuchh kiya us par khush hue".)
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ «أَنَّ رِجَالًا مِنَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى الْغَزْوِ وَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنْهُ وَفَرِحُوا بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَافَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اعْتَذَرُوا إِلَيْهِ وَحَلَفُوا وَأَحَبُّوا أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَنَزَلَ {لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا} »
