Sahih Ibn Hibban 482
Abu Tha'laba al-Khushani reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Verily, the most beloved of you to Allah and the closest of you to me in position are those of you who are best in character. And verily, the most hated of you to Allah and the furthest of you from me are the pompous, the arrogant, and the boastful."
حضرت ابو ثعلبہ خشنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، "بے شک تم میں سے اللہ تعالیٰ کو سب سے زیادہ محبوب اور میرے نزدیک مقام میں سب سے قریب وہ ہیں جو اخلاق کے لحاظ سے تم میں سب سے بہتر ہیں۔ اور بے شک تم میں سے اللہ تعالیٰ کو سب سے زیادہ ناپسند اور مجھ سے سب سے دور وہ ہیں جو متکبر، مغرور اور شیخی باز ہیں۔"
Hazrat Abu Thalaba Khushni Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya, "Be shak tum mein se Allah Ta'ala ko sab se zyada mehboob aur mere nazdeek maqam mein sab se qareeb wo hain jo akhlaq ke lehaaz se tum mein sab se behtar hain. Aur be shak tum mein se Allah Ta'ala ko sab se zyada napasand aur mujh se sab se door wo hain jo mutakabbir, maghroor aur shekhi baaz hain."
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَقْرَبَكُمْ مِنِّي أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي الثَّرْثَارُونَ الْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ»
