Sahih Ibn Hibban 6702
Yunus ibn Shihab narrated to us, that Wathiq Al-Laythi, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) conquered Makkah, he went out with us in the direction of Hawazin, until we passed by the tree of the idolators. It was a tree they used to circumambulate around and call "Dhat Anwat." We said: "O Messenger of Allah! Make for us a 'Dhat Anwat' as they have a 'Dhat Anwat.'" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allahu Akbar! These are the Sunan (practices of the past)! This is as the Children of Israel said to Musa: 'Make for us a god as they have gods.' He said: 'Indeed you are a people who are ignorant.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "You will indeed follow the ways of those who came before you."
یونس بن شہاب نے ہمیں بیان کیا، کہ وثیق لیتی، جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ میں سے تھے، نے کہا: جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مکہ کو فتح کیا، تو آپ ہمارے ساتھ حوازن کی طرف نکلے، یہاں تک کہ ہم مشرکین کے درخت کے پاس سے گزرے۔ یہ ایک ایسا درخت تھا جس کے گرد وہ طواف کرتے تھے اور اسے "ذات انواط" کہتے تھے۔ ہم نے کہا: "اے اللہ کے رسول! ہمارے لیے بھی ایک 'ذات انواط' بنا دیجیے جیسے ان کی ایک 'ذات انواط' ہے۔" رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "اللہ اکبر! یہ تو اگلوں کی سنتوں کی نقل ہے! یہ ایسا ہی ہے جیسے بنی اسرائیل نے موسیٰ سے کہا تھا: 'ہمارے لیے بھی ایک خدا بنا دیجیے جیسے ان کے خدا ہیں۔' موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے کہا تھا: 'تم یقیناً جاہل لوگ ہو۔'" پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "تم ضرور اپنے سے پہلوں کے طریقوں پر چلو گے۔"

Yeh ek aisa darakht tha jis ke gird woh tawaf karte the aur ise "Zaat Anwat" kehte the. Humne kaha: "Aye Allah ke Rasul! Hamare liye bhi ek 'Zaat Anwat' bana dijiye jaise in ki ek 'Zaat Anwat' hai." Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya: "Allahu Akbar! Yeh to aglon ki sunton ki naql hai! Yeh aisa hi hai jaise Bani Israel ne Musa se kaha tha: 'Hamare liye bhi ek Khuda bana dijiye jaise in ke Khuda hain.' Musa alaihissalam ne kaha tha: 'Tum yaqinan jahil log ho.'" Phir Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya: "Tum zaroor apne se pehlon ke tariqon par chaloge."
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ سِنَانَ بْنَ أَبِي سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيَّ وَهُمْ حُلَفَاءُ بَنِي الدِّيلِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيَّ يَقُولُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا افْتَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَكَّةَ خَرَجَ بِنَا مَعَهُ قِبَلَ هَوَازِنَ حَتَّى مَرَرْنَا عَلَى سِدْرَةِ الْكُفَّارِ سِدْرَةٌ يَعْكِفُونَ حَوْلَهَا وَيَدْعُونَهَا ذَاتَ أَنْوَاطٍ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اجْعَلْ لَنَا ذَاتَ أَنْوَاطٍ كَمَا لَهُمْ ذَاتُ أَنْوَاطٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ إِنَّهَا السُّنَنُ هَذَا كَمَا قَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لِمُوسَى {اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ} ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ » إِنَّكُمْ لَتَرْكَبُنَّ سَنَنَ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ «
