Sahih Ibn Hibban 7264
Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I am afflicted with hunger." The Prophet (ﷺ) sent (someone) to his wives, but he did not find anything with them. So he said, "Is there not a man who would host him this night?" A man from the Ansar stood up and said, "I (will host him), O Messenger of Allah!" So he went to his family and said to his wife, "The guest of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), do not hesitate regarding him." She said, "By Allah! I have nothing except the food for the children." He said, "When the children want to eat supper, put them to sleep, and extinguish the lamp, and we will tie our stomachs (to bear the hunger) tonight." So she did that. Then, the man went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) the next morning. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah has marveled or Allah has laughed at so and so." So Allah revealed, {And they give preference (to others) over themselves, even though they are in need}.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی نبی ﷺ کے پاس آیا اور کہنے لگا، "اللہ کے رسول! مجھے بھوک لگی ہے۔" نبی ﷺ نے اپنی ازواج مطہرات کے پاس (کسی کو) بھیجا، لیکن ان کے پاس کچھ نہیں ملا۔ تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا، "کیا کوئی ایسا آدمی نہیں ہے جو اسے آج رات مہمان بنائے؟" انصار میں سے ایک شخص کھڑا ہوا اور کہنے لگا، "میں (اسے مہمان کروں گا)، اللہ کے رسول!" چنانچہ وہ اپنے گھر والوں کے پاس گیا اور اپنی بیوی سے کہنے لگا، "رسول اللہ ﷺ کا مہمان ہے، اس کے بارے میں کوئی ہچکچاہٹ نہ کرنا۔" اس نے کہا، "اللہ کی قسم! میرے پاس بچوں کے کھانے کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے۔" اس نے کہا، "جب بچے رات کا کھانا کھانا چاہیں تو انہیں سلا دو، اور چراغ بجھا دو، اور ہم آج رات اپنے پیٹ باندھ لیں گے (بھوک برداشت کرنے کے لیے)"۔ چنانچہ اس نے ایسا ہی کیا۔ پھر وہ شخص اگلی صبح رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس گیا۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا، "اللہ تعالیٰ نے فلاں اور فلاں پر تعجب کیا ہے یا اللہ تعالیٰ ان پر ہنسا ہے۔" تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی، {اور یہ لوگ دوسروں کو اپنے اوپر ترجیح دیتے ہیں اگرچہ خود فاقہ کی حالت میں ہوں}۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira Razi Allah Anhu se riwayat hai ki ek aadmi Nabi SAW ke paas aaya aur kahne laga, "Allah ke Rasool! Mujhe bhook lagi hai." Nabi SAW ne apni azwaj muttahara ke paas (kisi ko) bheja, lekin unke paas kuchh nahin mila. To aap SAW ne farmaya, "Kya koi aisa aadmi nahin hai jo ise aaj raat mehmaan banaye?" Ansar mein se ek shakhs khada hua aur kahne laga, "Main (ise mehmaan karunga), Allah ke Rasool!" Chunancha woh apne ghar walon ke paas gaya aur apni biwi se kahne laga, "Rasool Allah SAW ka mehmaan hai, iske baare mein koi hichakchahat na karna." Usne kaha, "Allah ki qasam! Mere paas bachchon ke khane ke siwa kuchh nahin hai." Usne kaha, "Jab bachche raat ka khana khana chahein to unhen sula do, aur chiragh bujha do, aur hum aaj raat apne pet bandh lenge (bhook bardasht karne ke liye)". Chunancha usne aisa hi kiya. Phir woh shakhs agli subah Rasool Allah SAW ke paas gaya. Nabi SAW ne farmaya, "Allah Ta'ala ne falan aur falan par ta'ajjub kiya hai ya Allah Ta'ala un par hansa hai." To Allah Ta'ala ne yeh ayat nazil farmai, {Aur yeh log dusron ko apne upar tarjih dete hain agarche khud faqa ki halat mein hon}.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَابَنِي الْجَهْدُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى نِسَائِهِ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ عِنْدَهُمْ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ «أَلَا رَجُلٌ يُضَيِّفُهُ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ؟ » فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَالَ لِامْرَأَتِهِ ضَيْفُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَا تَدَّخِرِي عَنْهُ شَيْئًا فَقَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا قُوتُ الصِّبْيَةِ قَالَ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ الصِّبْيَةُ الْعَشَاءَ فَنَوِّمِيهِمْ وَتَعَالِي فَأَطْفِئِي السَّرَّاجَ وَنَطْوِي بُطُونَنَا اللَّيْلَةَ فَفَعَلَتْ ثُمَّ غَدَا الرَّجُلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَقَدْ عَجِبَ اللَّهُ أَوْ ضَحِكَ اللَّهُ مِنْ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانَةَ» فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ}
