Sunan Ibn Majah 2019
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he divorced his wife when she was menstruating. Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) mentioned that to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and he said, ‘tell him to take her back until she becomes pure (her period ends), then she has her period (again), then she becomes pure (again), then if he wishes he may divorce her before having sexual relations with her, and if he wishes he may keep her. This is the waiting period that Allah has enjoined.’

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے اپنی بیوی کو حیض کی حالت میں طلاق دے دی، عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے اس کا ذکر کیا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: انہیں حکم دو کہ اپنی بیوی سے رجوع کر لیں یہاں تک کہ وہ عورت حیض سے پاک ہو جائے پھر اسے حیض آئے، اور اس سے بھی پاک ہو جائے، پھر ابن عمر اگر چاہیں تو جماع سے پہلے اسے طلاق دے دیں، اور اگر چاہیں تو روکے رکھیں یہی عورتوں کی عدت ہے جس کا اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے ۔
Abdul'lah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ke main ne apni biwi ko haiz ki halat mein talaq de di, Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se is ka zikr kiya to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: unhen hukm do ke apni biwi se ruju kar lein yehan tak ke woh aurat haiz se pak ho jaye phir usse haiz aaye, aur usse bhi pak ho jaye, phir Ibn Umar agar chahen to jimaa se pehle use talaq de dein, aur agar chahen to roke rakhen yehi auraton ki addat hai jis ka Allah ne hukm diya hai
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ تَحِيضَ، ثُمَّ تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ إِنْ شَاءَ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُجَامِعَهَا، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَمْسَكَهَا، فَإِنَّهَا الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللَّهُ .
